That night, before Bill and Fleur's wedding, Diana dreamt. It was a horrible dream.
She was at Hogwarts. The walls were collapsing, Death Eaters ran amok, students and teachers fighting them. Diana passed through it, walking at a slow pace. The battle didn't touch her, but she knew this wasn't just a dream.
This was a prophecy, and not one created by Trelawney.
Diana soon found herself walking into the Forbidden Forest,can't in her hand, she held a golden Snitch. She found herself bringing it to her lips, and she kissed it, closing her eyes. She felt the Snitch vanish, and opened to realise there was a small stone in her hand. She then looked before her, and saw the woman she missed the most.
Her mother.
"Mum." She whispered. "What is this?" Lily came towards her, smiling.
"Merely a dream, Ana." She said, and Diana remembered. She now knew where'd she heard herself be called Ana. It was her mother. "Merely a dream." Diana's eyes wet with tears as she stared at her mother.
"Why are you here? You're... You're dead." Lily nodded, putting her hand on Diana's shoulder.
"Yes. But, I must tell you something. Something I told you when you were younger. If you recall, it was the promise you made to Harry the day he was born." Diana nodded.
"Of course I remember. It was one of the first things I ever told him." She closed her eyes again, and heard the voices of those who led her to who she was now, reminding her of her promise.
"Look after Harry." James.
"Be the good soldier." Sirius.
"Be responsible." Remus.
"Be brave." Peter.
"Be strong." Dumbledore.
"Fight." Charlie.
"Obey." McGonagall.
"Don't let them see you're scared." Snape.
"Protect Harry so he doesn't have to go through what you do." Lily said lastly, and Diana opened her eyes. "You made that promise again the day I died. You didn't want him to feel as you did then. Afraid. Sad. Horrified. Terrified. Alone. It was you who kept him safe." Diana wiped her eyes, sniffling.
"I guess I did, didn't I?" She chuckled. Lily smiled again.
