Karina apparated to the Tonks', where Remus and Tonks were hiding out.

"'Dromeda?" She knocked on their door. "Ted? Is Tonks and Remus in there? Its me, Karina!" Immediately, the door opened, and Ted Tonks's wand was at her nose.

"Speak!" He told her, but she folded her hands calmly.

"I am Karina Rose Potter Black, aunt, but considered mother of Harry James Potter, sister of James Alldred Potter, wife of the late Sirius Orion Black, and mother to Sirius James Potter Black. My patronus is the form of a Labrador dog, once a fox before Sirius Sr.'s death and Animagus form is a snowy fox, and I am the only girl Marauder, known as Foxtrot Potter, the Mini Marauder." Ted's wand lowered.

"Sorry, just had to be sure." Karina chuckled as she entered the house and the door was shut behind her.

"Ted, I was once a Defense of the Dark Arts professor. If you hadn't, I'd be insulted, worried, and have probably stunned you by now." Ted smiled, relieved that she wasn't mad, but the frowned at the "have probably stunned you by now" part.

"Where's Sirius?" He asked, changing the subject.

"I left him with Augusta Longbottom." She explained, poking around the house. "She says that I have either two months or by the next Death Eaters raid before she goes into hiding and takes him with her. And while I'm grateful that she's willing to take my son with her into hiding, I'd rather know where he is."

"Aren't you worried that Death Eaters might be after him as well?" Ted asked her, following her around. "I mean, he is Harry Potter's younger brother. You-Know-Who might be concerned that being The Boy Who Lived is a hereditary trait." Karina shook her head.

"Well of course I'm worried that Death Eaters are after him as well! I'm worried about both of them! They're my sons, after all. If I didn't worry, what kind of mother would I be?"

"Karina? Is that you?" Came Tonks's voice from upstairs.

"Yeah, Tonks! Its me!" Thudding footsteps came, and Karina found two wands pointed at her nose this time.

"She's fine, I checked her!" Ted told them, and Remus and Tonks lowered their wands. Karina smiled at Remus.

"Nice work there, Moony." She teased. "If you didn't, I'd think you were a fake." Remus chuckled, then leaned back against the wall.

"So, what brings you here, Karina?" She looked to Ted, her smile falling, unsure what to say.

"The Ministry's gathering up the Muggle-borns." She deadpanned, and Andromeda gasped,  Ted's face paling a bit. "Ted, if you don't have any sort of wizarding background, nothing that says that you're anywhere close to a pureblood... well..."

"Well... what?" Tonks asked, nervous. Karina sighed.

"Well, the dementors are waiting."

"Oh, Ted!" Andromeda ran to her husband, almost crying. Ted put his arms around her, looking to Karina, who felt helpless.

"I wanted to tell you sooner, but I was on the run myself. Not only Death Eaters, but the Daily Prophet are all on my tail, looking for Harry. I managed to hide out for a few days."

"Where were you?" Remus asked. "You seem, sort of shaken." She let out a small sigh.

"I was hiding at Godric's Hollow, in Lily and James's house." She told him. "It was the only place I could go where the Death Eaters wouldn't find me." Then she took a deep breath. "But that's not important. Death Eaters are coming. They're looking for you, Ted. And you're going to go up against Umbridge, in a trial, for your soul!" Ted let go of Andromeda and stood up straight.

"Then what should I do?"

"There's a load of Muggle-borns on the run." She told him. "I heard rumor in the underground that Dirk Cresswell managed to get away from Dawlish and that Dean Thomas ran from Hogwarts just a few days ago."

"Dean Thomas?" Remus asked, remembering the boy from his year as a professor. "I thought he was pureblood." Karina shook her head.

"His mother is a witch, but we don't know about his father. He left before Dean was born, so we have no proof that he was a wizard."

"So, where is Dean now?"

"Hopefully hiding. Keep moving, and he'll stay hidden. I'm tempted to go and find him myself to get him out of the country. I don't know how well he's able to Apparate, and we don't need Ministry officials swooping down on him for underage magic, or for him to end up Splinching himself and end up bleeding to death somewhere." Then she looked back at Ted. "Ted, I'm going to get you out of here. You're a grown man, you can take care of yourself, but I am going to take you to a safe hiding place in London." Ted's eyebrows rose.

"London?"

"Muggle London." She explained. "At Wool's Orphanage. It's been closed down for years, so you should be okay there."

"Why that orphanage?" Tonks asked.

"It was where Voldemort lived as a child." They all tensed, and the room was silent for a moment, other than the harsh wind blowing outside. It was as if they expected the Dark Lord himself to swoop down and kill them off.
