"This is your big moment, Oliver." Swaine told him.
"Mom." Oliver said.
"Alicia." Harmony whispered. Then the two of them walked over to the Soulsnare. They looked at each other, and Oliver nodded. He then picked it up, and there was a bright light, and he fell unconscious!
"Oliver!" Harmony cried out, catching him as he fell, when she too, went down.
"Harmony! Oliver!" Swaine, Esther, and Drippy ran over to them. They looked at the swirling sea below and the clouds above as they gathered for a storm.
"We've got to get out of here!" Esther cried.
"But how, mun!?" Drippy asked her.
"I'll carry Abyssa!" Swaine told them. "Esther, did you think you can lift Oliver?" Esther looked at the boy, and nodded.
"I can certainly try!" She said. Swaine nodded, then lifted up Harmony and carried her like a child, his hand holding the back of her head close to his chest. Esther did the same for Oliver, with a bit more difficulty, and they ran.
"Don't worry... it's going to be okay... I've got you..." Swaine whispered, more speaking to himself than Harmony. This was his best friend, the only one who truly knew how it felt, to be alone, knowing someone was counting on you. Except for her, she had the whole world, while he had Marcassin and the Empire. Marcassin... Swaine remembered how his younger brother had looked into Harmony's eyes, and how passionate of a kiss they had shared. How was he going to tell Marcassin about this?
When they finally reached the end of the Miasma Marshes and were back in Perdida, Esther nearly collapsed under Oliver's weight. They had all been running on pure adrenaline, all been trying to as far away from Nevermore as possible. But now, they were safe. Well, safe as they could get.
Swaine and Esther set Harmony and Oliver down and sat on the stairs of the temple that led to the Miasma Marshes. Xanaduvian guards ran over to them.
"What happened? What's wrong?" They demanded. Drippy, who was the one least panting, went up to them and told them what happened. "Would you like help getting them somewhere safe?" They asked. Swaine and Esther nodded.
"That'd be great thanks." Swaine told him as he tried to lift Harmony again, but unable to. So he lifted up Oliver and one of the guards took Harmony. Swaine held the small boy close, fighting back tears. Harmony never cried, so why should he? But he almost did as the guards led them into the house of the elderly woman they had helped and lay Harmony in the bed. Swaine, a little reluctantly, did the same for Oliver. He'd grown so close to both of them, and the fact that he didn't know how to help either of them made him angry. Very, angry.(This is just an idea I had a while ago, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go through with it)
