Aikan stared out into the ocean from Ellis Island, his current hiding place. Few parts had been renovated for the purpose of a museum, leaving enough space for his army.
"Sssssir, I have word that our operativessss on the field have found Blood and the Heathenssss." Came a slithery voice behind him. "They were ssssseen heading for the border in Portland, Maine. Shall we ssssend word to attack?"
"Thank you, Stephen." Aikan told him. "Yes, send word back with Talon to stop the Heathens before they reach the city. They'll be after our same prize."
"Yesssss Sssssir." And Stephen headed off, Aikan still staring off into distance, his eyes directed towards a penthouse on the mainland, just barely visible from where he was standing.
"Soon, you will discover your true calling."
HEATHENS
The Mutants came out of nowhere! One minute, we were walking towards the border towards what appeared to be a farm, hoping to cross the border into New York before it got too late, and the next minute, we were under attack!
"You aren't going anywhere, Blood!" I stood my ground.
"Watch me!" He snarled at me, sharp fangs appearing and yellow fur coming in, signifying to me that he was a shifter and that he could tiger out.
Fang, Decker, Elijah, Xavier, and I had been wandering around for a while now. Everyone was in the race, Heathens versus Mutants, to find whoever was born from Hades's bloodline. While we didn't have internet, we had a headstart. Scarheart was able to tell us the last sighting of a Heathen descended from Hades.
"Madame Poisson tells me that he can be found in New York City." He told us. Madame Poisson used her physic abilities to sense the bloodline, and she pointed us all into the direction of New York. She had even given us a mental picture of someone who was near the person we were looking for.
We had been all over the place, and now thanks to her and Decker's new ability to trace the internet with his electricity, we think that we had the place pinpointed.
"Up there!" Fang suddenly shouted, pointing towards a farmhouse. "The minivan! Go for it! We can get away!" I quickly ducked under the tiger as he dove for me, then started running for the farm that was surrounded by a barbed wire fence. I looked up to see Xavier flying over, Fang, Elijah, and Decker already ahead of me and jumping over. I took a deep breath, leap of faith....
And I got caught on the fence like a rat in a trap.
"Shit!" I fell to the ground, working quickly to untangle my leg from the wire as the tiger came closer and closer.
"Amber!" I heard Fang shout, and I was suddenly off the ground, the barbed wire tearing my pants leg as he pulled me up.
"Fang! I'm fine!" I insisted, but he ignored me and kept running to the minivan that sat in the driveway of the farmhouse that the others were climbing into.
"Come on!" Elijah called from the open backdoor. I felt Fang go faster, and hugged his neck tightly, hating the feelings of being jostled around and helplessness.
Fang finally reached the minivan and helped me in, before jumping in and slamming the door shut behind him.
"Drive!" He shouted at Xavier.
