"This is the police! Come out with your hands up! No funny business! We have the house surrounded!"
"Amber, please listen to him!" I heard my mother's voice call.
I looked around at the boys, fearful, as Decker grinned evilly.
"I'd offer my services in aiding you away from the police, but my services won't save you from Aikan." Then he headed for the backdoor, but was stopped by Xavier and Asher.
"You're not going anywhere, Sparky." Asher told him, and Xavier spread his wings behind him, blocking Decker's path.
"You brought this hell to us. Now if we're going down, you're going down with us."
"What about Amber?" Fang demanded, stepping up to the three. "We can't take her out there! She's not a mutant like us!"
"Well, what do you suppose we do?" Elijah demanded. "We can't leave her in here, they'll send cops looking for her! They know she comes here all the time!"
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking!" Fang told him. I knew I had to go with them. I promised to protect them, yet I had let Decker get away with what he's done and exposed them.
"Fang, I'll-" I started to say, but he stopped me.

"Not now, Amber." Fang told me, then turned to Elijah. "Eli, can you get Amber out of here with your vampire speed?" Elijah nodded, taking my hand.
"I'll do my best." He turned to me. "Amber, I'm going to take you out to the backyard and over the fence." I pulled my hand away.
"No. I'm going with you guys." I said.
"Amb, its too dangerous." Fang told me. "You'll get arrested!"
"I don't care!" I told them. "This is partially my fault. If I had figured out about Decker sooner, this wouldn't have happened."
"I won't repeat myself again!" The police called again. "Come out with your hands up!"
"Amber, sweetheart, come outside!" I heard Dad call. I looked to the boys.
"Wherever you guys go, I'm going too." Then I glared at Decker. "And I'll drag Decker on a rubber rope behind me the whole way."
"If you don't come out now, we will be forced to break down the door!" The cops called. Asher, Xavier, Decker, and Elijah looked to Fang, who sighed.
"Xavier, keep an eye on Decker. Ash, come here. I want you near me, just in case your water sacks run dry." Asher nodded, taking a drink of his water bottle, the Nike one I'd gotten him from the 5K. "Elijah, watch out for Amber. And make sure you have your hoodie on." Elijah nodded as well, pulling on his blue Yankees hoodie, the one that I had gotten him in New York City.  Then we walked outside, our hands up.
"Amber!" My mom tried to run to me, but the police held her back. I saw Dad with Charlie, standing by the family car.
"Please, stay back, ma'am." I heard the police man tell her and a few more came over to me and the guys. Xavier shoved Decker forward, folding his arms across his chest.
"Watch him, he's like an electrical outlet." Xavier told the cop, who was already wearing rubber gloves. That was when another cop came over and pulled the water bottle away from Asher!
"Hey!" I shouted, going over to him and yanking the bottle away. "He needs this!"
"Amber!" Asher put his hand on my shoulders. "I'll be okay." The cop took the bottle away from me, looking smug, before putting it in an evidence bag. I looked to Asher.
"Asher, you'll die without water!" I told him. He nodded.
"I know, but I'll be fine. I'll get water sooner or later."
"Hopefully, sooner." Fang whispered, just as a cop came and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him away.
"Let's go, big guy." I looked around me, seeing more cops, my family by the car, Mom crying. I looked back and watched as a Elijah hissed at a man who tried to pull down his hood, Xavier folding his wings down and getting handcuffed so that he couldn't unfold them again, Asher getting checked out and stripped of all his sources of water. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, and a cop pushed me along towards his cop car, shoved me inside, and we drove away, I watching as my mother tried to follow him, but was held back by my father, and Fang being shoved into a cop car, watching me with those cold, blue, eyes.

HEATHENS

They made me change into an orange jumpsuit, before bringing me into a room with just a single desk and three chairs.
"Is this some kind of interrogation room?" I asked sarcastically. "What? We gonna play good cop, bad cop?" The man who had brought me here just shoved me in and locked the door behind me. I sat in the chair and crossed my arms, trying to look intimidating, but really, I was freaking out. Where did they take the guys? Was Asher okay? What about Fang? What about Elijah, Xavier, even Decker? What was happening to them? I pictured horrible things happening to them. Asher, drying out and dying, Xavier getting his wings ripped off, Elijah being shoved in front of a sunlamp and burning to death, Fang morphing out of control, Decker getting the electricity sucked put of him. Actually, scratch that last one. After all the trouble he caused, I hope that he gets the electricity sucked out of him, that lying little spark filled backstabber!
As I thought about the worst possibilities, two men came in and sat down in the two chairs in front of me. I saw one of them holding my personal record. He smiled at me kindly, and I knew that this was Good Cop, Bad Cop.
"Hello." He said. "You must be Miss Blood. Your name is quite... Interesting."
"Just call me Amber." I snarled.
"Watch it, Missy." He snarled back. "I'm Agent Shields, this is my partner, Agent Ecans."
"Where are my friends, Shields?" I demanded, wanting to move on.
"We'll tell you in a moment." Ecans told me. "We just have a few questions first-"
"I'm not talking until I know my friends are safe." I interrupted him. "Now, where are they? Are they safe?"
"Your friends are fine, Blood." Shields told me. "They're in a special containment unit. Probably where you'll end up being if you don't answer any of our questions."
"Fine." I growled. Getting locked up wasn't going to help the guys, so I decided to play their stupid game.
"When did you meet the boys?" Ecans asked me at once.
"Last year, first day of school." I told him bluntly. "I almost hit Fang with my car and Elijah was with him. We became friends, then he took me to meet everyone else."
"When did you discover that they had supernatural abilities?"
"About a week after I met Fang and Elijah. Elijah was wearing a hoodie and I knocked his hood down and he began to burn in the sun, so Fang spilled the whole story then and there."
"What are each of the boys abilities?"
"Why?" Shields slammed his fist on the desk.
"We ask the questions here, Blood. Now what makes them a bunch of mutants?" I glared at him, but spilled.
"Fang's a werewolf, he just needs a medicine that you creeps left at the house to help him control it." I started. "Decker's got electrical powers, so he wears rubber clothes, Elijah's a vampire, so he needs his hoodie, Xavier has wings and has to be careful with them, and Asher is half fish, which means he needs tons of water at all times. Does that help you?" Shields stood straight and Ecans looked dumbfounded.
