Aaliyah followed Abull into the throne room, her heart pounding, her head spinning, and her stomach weak. She felt like she was going to pass out. Could this really be it? Was this place really where she belonged?
"Your Moojesty." Abull called as they entered the room, the Cowlipha having just come in and sat down. "There is... someone, who would like to meet you." The Cowlipha smiled.
"Why so estranged, Abull? We love new company!" Abull nodded, sweating nervously, before he stepped aside, and Aaliyah stepped forward, the Cowlipha's smile vanishing, and her face going pale.
"Your Moojesty?" She spoke softly, but loud enough for her to hear. "My name is Aaliyah Smith. I came from another world, and wanted to ask you something."
"Aaliyah?" The Cowlipha whispered, looking to Abull, who nodded, but she began to shake her head. "It isn't possible." Aaliyah balled her hands into fists. It was now or never!
"I was found in a basket, on the sidewalk in front of my foster parents' house." She held up the basket, with her baby blanket inside. "In a little town called Motorville, where the rift between this world and the other world are the strongest."
"Abull, stop this!" The Cowlipha demanded, but Abull hurried away. He had one idea to convince her.
"I have no family in that other world. My foster parents told me they don't know where I came from." It felt like she couldn't stop! "I came to this world by accident, and I've had many strange experiences, but it all makes more sense to me than it ever has before. Oliver and I both share the same feelings about this world as we do the other world, and his mother came from this world, while he was raised in the other world."
"Young lady, this is no laughing matter!" The Cowlipha crowed, getting upset now, but Aaliyah looked her in the eyes, her own watering.
"I have a pendant, that tells me that my mother loves me. The picture was torn, but her hair looks like mine. So does yours." The Cowlipha picked at her own curls. "I have horns like you do. I can perform magic, and I have been through such a hellish journey. I just want to know one thing."
"Please..." The Cowlipha sobbed, standing up and coming closer to Aaliyah, who stood as tall as she could compared to the giant woman.
"Queen Lowlah, I know that eleven years ago, you had Abull take a child that looks like me to Rashaad, so that that child could be sent away somewhere safe, and you haven't seen that child since. I just want to know something." The Cowlipha bent down and let Aaliyah climb into her hand, lifting her so that they were closer to eye level. "Your Moojesty, I just want to know. Do you think that I am that child? I just want to know... are you my mother?" The Cowlipha began crying harder than ever.
"Sweet girl. Your story speaks to us. It truly does." She told her, as Abull came back, rolling in a tree stump. "But, we know who our child was. And we truly believe that you are her. But there is really only one for us to be sure." Aaliyah bit her lip as the Cowlipha set Aaliyah down on the arm of her throne, Abull making his way up with the stump. "There have been many false Aaliyahs in our time, many who only seek power and the key to our throne. But our Aaliyah, she was given the gift as the Heir to Magic, a gift passed down to her for many a generation. And only one person can make this tree grow." Aaliyah looked to the tree, feeling her face grow warm. She had no clue how to make this tree grow, but she knew deep in her gut that the Cowlipha had to be her mother. It was the only thing that made sense to her in all of the time she spent in Ni No Kuni, and if she wanted it to be true, she had to make this tree grow!
She walked up and placed her hand on the tree, closing her eyes, begging the tree to grow in her head. Almost at once, her hand began to feel warm, and she opened her eyes to see that it was growing! The stump began to grow taller that Abull, the limbs billowing out like a flower, the once stump growing into a tree, thick and beautiful with golden leaves, and Aaliyah felt tears spring in her eyes. It was true. It was all true.
"The Heir to Magic has returned!" Abull cried out. "Our Princess Aaliyah is here!"
