"I'm not ready to lose him!" Gart sobbed, hugging Gwendolyn tight, Gwendolyn holding her elder cousin awkwardly.
"I know, Gart. I know." She murmured, gingerly patting his back, before gasping. "Gart, someone's watching us." She whispered, looking at a dark figure that watched them from the shadows of the garden.
"What?" He whispered, looking up.
"Don't look." She whispered, watching the figure with hard eyes. "They might come over here."
"Who?" He turned anyways, and the figure ran into the darkness, a dark green cloak disappearing.
"Come on!" Gwendolyn ran after the figure. If they got away, they'd never pay for breaking into the castle and spying on them!
"Gwendolyn!" Gart ran after her. "We should get the guards!"
The two ran as fast as their legs could carry them, the figure running for the wall and jumping to grab on the edge.
"Stop!" Gwendolyn jumped on them and pushed them to the ground with a loud oof. "Who are you?" She growled, the person breathing hard.
"Someone who's too old for this." Came an older voice, before they turned on their back. "Gwendolyn, please let me up." They begged, and Gart caught up, holding a dagger.
"Leave us alone!" He told the person, his voice cracking.
"Please, I just had to see you!" The person told them pleadingly. "I haven't seen you in so long!"
"Who are you?!" Gwendolyn yelled, tearing the hood away to reveal an older woman. A woman, who had long gray hair that tangled around her. Her skin was tanned from years in the sun, and wrinkled from those as she got older.
And the eyes. She had Graham's eyes. And that was what told Gwendolyn who she was.
"Hova?" She whispered. Gart furrowed his eyebrows.
"What?" The woman nodded, sighing.
"Yes, Gwendolyn. I am your Great Aunt Hova." She told her wearily, and Gwendolyn got up off of her.
"Why are you here?" Gwendolyn asked as the old woman got to her feet.
"I told you. I wanted to see you kids." She smiled at them. "You've both grown so much."
"Gwendolyn, who is this woman?" Gart demanded, confused.
"Gart, this is Grandpa's sister." Gwendolyn told him, as if it were obvious. "Our Great Aunt Hova." Gart dropped his dagger in shock.
"I haven't seen the two of you since you were born." She croaked.
"You saw us when we were born?" Gart asked incredulously, and she nodded, before shrugging.
"Well, I saw you. It took me a little longer to be able to see you, Gwendolyn. Your father would have never allowed me near you. It was only pure luck I got to see you once."
