zion's now ex girlfriend ashley just broke up with him. he handled it bad, and you? handled it worse. it hurt you a lot more than he thought. than he ever realised. and when you told him you loved him. well. it didn't go exactly to plan cause he just dodged it.
until.... "i'm sorry. and for what you said earlier... i love you too"

you sighed "wait. what?"
zion looks at you "i know it's dumb because i was with ash but yeah. i love you"
you sighed "if you told me 8 months ago when you first got with ashley we wouldn't be here!"
zion nods "i know i know and i'm sorry but i do love-"
you cut him off "why were you with her if you love me?"
zion sighed "not my proudest moment but because i kinda didn't wanna believe it at first. because you're my best friend. i felt like a dumbass for falling for my best friend. it's just. it seems bad but i thought that if i got with her and i forgot about you then it was nothing but i didn't and now well. i love you more than i did the first time"
you sighed "zion. you used her. to see if what you felt for me was okay?"
zion nods "yup. not my brightest moment"
you look at zion "honesty. i've always said that's the most important thing."
zion nods "and i know but i just"
you sighed "idk z. i love you. you're my best friend and all also but i just. i don't know what to think"
zion looks at you "come back inside. play fortnite. if it feels like before ash came around then we're good, if not. i'll drop it"
you nod "fine"

you walk inside after zion and play a few rounds of fortnite, as much as you hate to admit it, he was right. it felt like old times. it was just. he's just someone you can't forget. no matter how hard you try.. or well.. tried.

before you knew it. y'all were OFFICIALLY TOGETHER. FINALLY. it made everyone around y'all happy to see you both with each other and not avoiding the situation. turns out, you and zion being together was best for everyone.
