when you and nick were younger you both made a promise that when you both hit 20 and we're still each other's lives, you'd try to be more serious. you dated when y'all were 13. but it didn't work out one bit, and you came to the mutual agreement to try again when you're 20.

your 20th.

the boys held it at there's. with your friends, and mutual friends of the guys all there with you. nick disappeared from out of your sight and it stressed you out.

"b... have you see nick? he was over near the DJ but he disappeared" you sighed looking around
brandon shrugs "sorry girl. i got no idea. i'll have a look around for him when i look for charlotte!"
you nod "thank you. text me."
brandon nods "sounds good!!"

40 minutes later brandon texts you "found him. he was taking-"
before you could finish it. nick was in front of you. he was gone. he was very drunk.
you sighed "nick. you needa go back inside"
nick shakes his head and grabs your hands "it's your 20th! i ain't going nowhere"
you sighed releasing your grip from nick's hands "nick. please."
nick shakes his head "remember that promise from when we were 13?"
you nod "nick. i do. but can we talk when you're not well. extremely drunk?!"
nick shakes his head "i promised you! i can't break that!"
you nod "yeah i know! and you're not going too. but please. just. just. please"
nick nods " fine. i'll leave it."
nick walks inside to get a drink of water.

you sighed and followed him "i didn't mean it like that"
nick sighed "seems like you did"
i sighed "yeah. i wanna try it. but. not. not when you're drunk. cause i might not know if it's real."
zion comes inside "come on nick. let's get you to bed. you can continue this when you have a killer headache in the morning"

the next morning. charlotte has stayed and was already up and on the roof with brandon. it's was their spot when they needed to get away from everyone. you sighed getting up. and walking downstairs.

nick was out to it on the sofa.

you sighed and tapped his shoulder "i'm sorry for everything"
nick sighed "no i'm sorry. i'm 90% sure i ruined your 20th for you"
you shake your head "technically my 20th isn't until today. last night was just the party. since it's a sunday when my birthday actually is"
nick sighed "i'm sorry. i want to make us work. i do. i always have. even dumb 13 year old nick did, he just went about it the wrong way."
you nod "i always have too. and we're older now"
nick nods "exactly. let's fresh up and go to lunch. it'll be a date apology"
you smiled "i can handle that"
nick smiled "just to see if this will work"

and. after the whole day out. it worked. it was odd. you both have been each other's life as friends since the break up when you were 13 and the date brought up totally different feelings. but. you weren't exactly mad about them. let's just say, you both felt happy for one. so. it was back on. and it was the happiest you've been. the both of you.
