you live in a really small town. everyone knows everyone. and as much as you hated it, it wasn't always a bad thing. your closest friends have been with you since day one and same with your enemies.

you notice 5 boys move down into the house about a mile away from you. not sure who they are, you mind your own business.

about 6 months later, you got to know all the boys. they weren't that bad. brandon was extremely passionate about his music, zion was a flirt but in a way where it was sweet, austin came off nerdy, edwin was always ALWAYS talking, and well the other one nick? you weren't so sure about him. every girl he looked at would kinda flinch. or move in a way that was odd. not crush odd but just odd odd.

it was valentine's day. you didn't have any classes at college so you decide to just stay home and away from everyone. away from all the loved up couples.

you then heard a knock at your door.
you are extremely confused but you get it anyways.

"hello!" nick smiled as you answered the door
out of all the boys it had to be the one you were yet to figure out.
"what?" you said slightly rude. just to see how he would react
nick smirks "dinner?"
i look at nick "so that's the kinda guy you are hey" you then shut the door and start to walk away
it as you turn back you notice nick's foot was in the door, he lets himself in

"what's that supposed to mean?" he looks at you
"well let's see. you're friends seem so sweet yet you? you've got a bad reputation in my neighbourhood." you look at nick
nick shrugs "so don't let that stop you!"
you scoff "stop me? hell nah. didn't even think about it"

nick smiled "come over for a game of basketball at the house with the boys. if i win, you agree to dinner. but if you win, i'll leave you alone"
since you love a competition, you couldn't turn that offer down. "okay deal. but imma kick your ass"

you follow nick back to the boys' house.

nick smiled "right boys! basketball time. myself and her are team captains. she'll pick first then we'll go from there"
you scoff "my name is y/n"

"i'll take him" you point to zion
nick smirks "hm okay. i'll take austin"
you nod "i'll take him too" you point to brandon. leaving edwin with nick

40 minutes and an intense basketball game later. nick shoots the last shot. deciding the winner and of course it went in.

"hahahaha i won!!!" nick started to jump around you in circles
you facepalm "fine. pick me up at 8."

you hand nick your number and address

after nick took you out to dinner, he was only like that around his friends. turns out. he wasn't as bad as you expected.
