you and zion have been together for a long time, but never by yourself. living back in canada, he was the popular kid at school so he was playing hockey, spending every non minute of school with his friends and just having time with them, so you could never find time to have with him just you.

and well. when you did. a bomb dropped.

you have been living out in LA with zion for two years now. and you love it. you wouldn't trade it for the world. you both go back to canada when you can and you get along with the boys really well. until. your dad passes. it's been just you & your dad for as long as you remember, and when he suddenly passes, well it changes a lot.

when you were 3, your mom and dad spilt and she never came back into the picture. dad then remarried when you were about 14, they had a kid and then she left and sprung the kid onto you & your dad. so he's looking after a 4 year old.

until when he passes. you get a call from an unknown number. you look at zion as you answer it "hello?"
you hear a light sigh "hi is this y/n"
you nod "this is she"
"i'm sorry to inform you but your dad arrived here last night after passing out on the job. after further scans we found out it was brain cancer, unknown brain cancer. it more or less got to him before we could help. i'm sorry. but you need to decide what happens to lenny within 5 days before we put him into foster care"
you sighed "okay. i'll be on the next flight."

you sighed and look at zion and the boys "would. would it be okay if my little brother moved in? i know he's only 4 but dad passed and his mom is an asshole and he's really got no one."
zion nods "yes babe. whatever you need. need me to come with you?"
you nod "that'll help"

12 hours later. you land back home and head to the hospital to say your final goodbyes from your dad and pick up your brother lenny.

lenny sighed "dad?"
you nod "yeah bud i know" you pick him up and hug him
zion looks at you and just knows that that breaks your heart. so he opens his arms "come here lenny! wanna go see if we can find some leggo to play with?!"
lenny nods and goes over to zion right away

you sighed and made your way with the nurses to fill the forms out. after 4 LONG days, you were his offical legal gardian. which. honestly, the boys handled it so much better than expected. they helped you through the whole thing. which you were so thankful for
