CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW
Next, I heard somebody walk into the room.
"I'm sorry but I'm not taking anymore auditions." I said as I didn't bother to look up. Probably somebody who came late but...late isn't good for me. If you're late- you lost your chance.
"I'm not here for an audition." The person said.
I stopped what I was doing and noticed that I had heard that voice before. I slowly looked up and there stood my ex-best friend.
Shemar Moore.
"My number is blocked so...I had to come and see you myself." He said as he looked at me.
I didn't expect this...
I looked at him with a shocked facial expression on my face.
It was hard seeing him face to face after breaking his heart in a million pieces the last time I saw him.
"Can you at least say hi?" He said as he put his hands in his pockets.
"Hi...." I said as I looked away from him and continued to gather my things. I had to get out of here fast because I didn't know the reason as to why he was here. I felt guilty.
"Please...stop and talk to me." He said as he watched me put some of the papers in a folder.
"I really have to go. This isn't a good time..." I said as I looked up at him and then towards the door.
"Why did you lie?" He asked me.
The room then got silent. I wanted to look him in the eyes but I couldn't. Seeing him brought the memories and feelings that we both shared so long ago. It also brought back the pain that I caused so many people.
"I-....I don't know." I said as I looked him in the eyes and then rushed to look away. I then shrugged my shoulders a little bit. "I just don't."
"Yes, you do. Honestly, I couldn't talk to you for the longest because of that. That's why I just....stopped talking to you....to basically everybody. You have no idea how I felt that day knowing that I wasn't a Father. I felt as if you basically ripped my entire heart out. You promised me." He said as his eyes started to get glossy a little bit. I could see that he's still hurting because of that day that happened almost 2 years ago.
"I know...I promised you a lot of things." I said as I looked down and played with my hands. "My intention weren't to break them but...it just happened. I'm sorry." I told him as I finally met his eyes for a moment.
"So...Where's the baby?" He asked me. "Well, I'm pretty sure the baby isn't as much of a baby anymore, huh?" He asked me.
"Well, she's almost two now."
"She?" He asked me.
"Yeah."
He then smiled to himself.
"We were both hoping that it would be a girl." He said as he then lightly laughed and looked down. I nodded my head and looked at him. "What's her name?" He asked.
