CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

Seems like it too Caiya forever to come out. I impatiently waited for my daughter in the car after school for almost thirty full minutes.

Sitting here, I looked around at all of the different teenagers as they walked by and laughed together. I miss high school to an extent. Where you don't have to worry too much about adult things but just simply being able to live.

While sitting in the parking lot, I blasted the warm heat and placed the radio on a very low volume.

After this, I have to pick up Dana from Mommy's house and then pick up Ciyle from practice. Tony would have helped me with the kids but apparently, he has a date. Shemar is out working on this new show that he's in. Rehearsals are very long these days.

However, I don't mind. I loved spending time with my children and being a Mother is always exciting.

I reached over in the passenger seat to pick up my phone. Once I unlocked it, I opened my emails and checked to make sure that all of the recent casting dates were still updated nicely.

After I successfully checked everything, I looked up to see if Cai was out yet and thankfully, she was walking towards the car.

I examined the way she walked and noticed that she didn't really seem like her normal self. She looked so sad and like she didn't have a good day at school. I also noticed a poster in her hand and wondered what it was.

As she reached the car, she opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.

I watched her as she took her backpack off and placed it in between in her legs. She didn't say a word.

"...hi to you too." I then said as I watched her throw the poster in the back and sigh.

"Hi." She dryly said as she leaned her head against the door.

"How was school?" I asked her.

"School was school. Can we go now?"

"Caiya, what's wrong? You need to start talking to me. Whatever happened to that? We gained it back and now, it's gone. So, what's been going on and when did you start wearing makeup?" I asked her as I held her chin and looked at her face closely.

"Ma!" She quickly said as she reached up and removed my hand from her chin. "A friend did it. Trying something new. Please, can we go?" She harshly asked me.

"Well, what's the poster?" I questioned.

She looked at me with her lips parted and furrowed her eyebrows in frustration.

"I got asked to prom."

"By who?" I asked her in such excitement. I turned towards her and gave her my attention.

She kept her head on the door and continued looking straight.

"My boyfriend." She softly said.

"And why am I just now hearing about this young man?"

"Because I know how you and Daddy are. He doesn't even wanna hear a single word about me dating anybody and you....always ask questions."
