CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

"Don't you guys ever get tired of this?" Ciyle asked me as he kept his head embedded into his phone while he sat in the passenger seat.

"Tired of what?" I asked him as I looked in the rear view mirror at Dana who was still fast asleep in her car seat.

"Going back and forth?" He then said as he looked over at me.

"Sometimes but it's what we have to do, Ciyle. It's not like your Father and I live close to each other, you know?" I explained.

"Uhm. Okay." He then lowly mumbled.

"I do have a question for you though. I know that your sister already knows but I feel like you deserve to know as well."

"What is it, Ma?"

I took a deep breath and thought for a moment about how I was gonna say this.

I had to just ask...

"How do you feel about Shemar and I seeing each other?" I asked him right away.

He got silent and the silence started to scare me after it lasted for too long.

I then quickly looked over at him and saw that his eyebrows were furrowed together.

"I mean..." he said as he slouched down into his seat a little bit.

"Yeah?"

"If that's what you want to do? Do it. As long as he makes you happy. I can't say that I don't like it because Dad even started seeing Carmen. You both have obviously moved on."

"See, I knew that my baby boy would understand." I said as I reached over and gently touched his cheek. He made a face and laughed a little.

"What? Did Cai not like it?"

"Not one bit. You know how she can be. She wants your Father and I to get back together but the way it's looking? It's not gonna happen. I tried."

"Have you really tried?" He then asked me.

"Yes, Ciyle. I have." I said as I shrugged my shoulders.

"Oh." He then said as he introduced the silence again afterwards with nothing further to say.

"I love you, Ciyle. I hope that you feel no other way." I said breaking the silence.

"I know that you do, Ma. I love you too." He said in a calm tone and nodded his head.

"I got her." Ciyle said as he opened the backseat door and started to unbuckle Dana.

"Are you sure..." I said as I watched him slowly unbuckle each buckle.

"Yes, Mom." He then assured me as he softly picked her up and closed the door with his foot.

I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack watching that boy grab my baby but I knew that he wanted to be on his 'Big Brother' type thing today.
