"What is it, Caiya? I need to know because after that day? You haven't been the same. You literally jumped out of the shower because you wanted me to hold you. It's something serious and I need to know because I have a feeling that it's not about Demetrius declining you for prom." She told me.

I sat there and just thought about how I should tell her but then again, I don't want you. What happened to me was a disgrace. A selfish action. How can I live with myself?

"Tell me please, Caiya. You're scaring me." Ma said as her voice started to crack. She was on the very edge of crying.

"I just-....I-..." I said as I started to stutter.

She raised her right eyebrow and looked at me.

"I-....it was Demetrius. That's what happened. I mean, it happened and then afterwards he declined the prom thing. That's-...that's why I-...I said that he hurt me that day after I got out of the shower."

"Are you telling me the truth?" Ma asked me as she looked up towards the ceiling to
prevent any tears from falling.

I parted my lips and thought about what to say.

"Y-...yes." I then said as I looked away from her.

"Okay. Come here." She said in a soft voice as she reached out for me. I moved over towards her and she held me in her arms. I just sat there in her arms and closed my eyes. The way she rubbed and patted my back only gained me even more peace in her love for me.

"I love you so much. I'm happy that you opened up about this to me but Cai, you can't give your body away to just any dude. That's not respecting who you are. Your body is a temple." She said as she then kissed the top of my head.

I just cried and I could feel the tears falling down my face and onto her shirt. She lightly rocked us back and forth and kissed my head once more.

"Guys will hurt you sometimes but you just have to chose the right one." She then told me. "Plus, Mommy will always be here for you. So, please- remember that. Open up to me. I need to know what's going on with you. You're my baby. My first born. One of my main hearts. Please, start talking to Mommy about things like this. Don't hold things inside. I can only steer you in the right direction, sweetheart. You're worth more than just a stupid boy who just wants to get one thing from you and then leave. Never settle either." She told me. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly.

I wanted to tell her the truth but the truth hurts too much. Opening my mouth hurts too much. I don't want Trey to hurt her or my family. I won't do it. I can't.

Before I could say anything else, the doorbell started ringing.

"That must be Tony here to get you." She said as we broke the hug. I watched her stand up and I followed behind her. "I gotta go wake Dana up." Ma added as she disappeared around the corner.
