CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW
Once I made it home from my date with Shemar, I wanted to finally talk to Cai about how she felt about him and I trying again.
It was roughly around 11 but I knew that she was probably still awake on her phone or something.
Once I knocked on her door, I then opened it and saw her in bed...scrolling through her phone. Like I said she would be...
"Caiya, I need to talk to you about Shemar and I..." I said as I walked into her room and sat on the edge of her bed.
"Why?"
"I just...wanna know how you feel about it...us trying again..." I said as I played with my hands and then looked up at her.
"How do I feel about it? Ma, of course I'm not gonna like it. He is the main reason as to why our entire family is torn. I don't like him anymore. He was selfish. He wanted you to himself and he never thought once about what could happen to your children if everything went downhill. Now look, everything is down hill and we're left here to go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth between your house and Daddy's house. So, to sum it all up? I feel like...I don't know. I just don't like it."
"Cai, I understand that this must be very hard for you. I know that you wanted us all to be a family again but sometimes, life doesn't work like that. Your Father and I have chosen to move on. He is with Carmen and I...well, Shemar and I are trying to work things out. Don't you want your Father and I to be happy? Apparently, your Father is happy with Carmen. So, can't you just be happy that he's happy?" I asked her.
"He's not happy. He might look or say that he's happy but he's not. He wants you. Can't you see that?" She asked me in a low voice.
"Caiya, I've ask your Father many times if he wanted to try again but he's chosen to continue on with his relationship with Carmen. I'm sorry, love bug but this is...it's just what happened." I said as I sighed a small sigh.
"It's dumb but whatever. I guess I'll just accept it since you and him are already going on dates and stuff..."
"It's not dumb. It's life." I assured her.
"I don't know." She said as she then shook her head and looked at me.
"Well, you know that I love you, right?" I asked her.
"Of course. I love you too."
"Put your phone down for a change and get some rest. Tomorrow, I need you to at least tell me what color or whatever you need for your Prom dress, okay? We don't have a lot of time." I said to her as I stood up.
"I'm not even worried about that..." she mumbled to herself as she turned on her side away from me.
"Huh?" I asked her as I stared at her back.
"I'm just not worried about it." She admitted as she then looked over her shoulder at me.
"And why not?"
"School work. A dress is the last thing on my mind. I'm sleepy....goodnight." Caiya then said as she threw the covers over her head.
