CAIYA's POINT OF VIEW
"Happy Birthday, Caiya!" A classmate of mine told me as she walked past me while I stood at my locker.
I turned around and smiled at her. Shocked that she remembered from last school year. "Thank you..." I told her in a nervous but sincere voice.
"No problem, girl. Senior year. A few more days and we out this bitch. Celebrate," she said as she winked at me and kept walking past me.
"Yeah..." I said as I nodded my head and watched her walk away. I was shocked that anybody would talk to me but I guess everybody didn't hated me. She showed exactly that, I guess.
I then turned around to face my locker. As I reached in, I pushed my lunchbox towards the back of my locker but I saw a small piece of paper sticking out of the side of it.
I furrowed my eyebrows together and grabbed it. As I stood at my locker unfolding the paper,
I started to read it.—————————————————————
Caiya,Eighteen years ago, a beautiful baby girl
came into my life. From the first time I
held you and from the first time your Daddy kissed your little forehead- I knew that you would be the most sweetest thing that has touched this earth. You're so beautiful and sometimes whenever I look at you- I can't help but to see that little face that would always look up to me. I know that some things aren't the same, baby. I know some things hurt but today? Today is a new day and a new year begins. You're so loved by Daddy and I. We love you so, so, so, so much and finally, I must say...Happy Birthday, Baby Girl. Enjoy your day at school.-Mommy—————————————————————
After I finished reading the note, a small smile appeared on my face but it faded two seconds afterwards.
I don't think that I'll ever be happy until my parents get back together but then again, why should I even keep caring?
Nobody understands the amount of pain that divorce has brought upon me. Yet, sometimes I try to be and stay happy because at some points you get tired of being unhappy.
I neatly folded the note and slipped it into my lunchbox where it once was but deeper within.
"Happy Birthday, Cai..." a familiar voice said behind me.
I turned around to see who it was with intentions of being thankful for remembrance but I couldn't....
It was Justin. With roses in his hands.
"Caiya, I know that you probably ain't even want anything to do with me and baby, I understand that and all. I just-...I made a mistake, alright? She made me go in there with her, baby. Can't you see that? I don't wanna hurt you, Caiya and I know that I have at times. I still don't wanna do it and that's why I'm trying to stop..." He explained to me with his droopy eyes that told me nothing but lies.
I looked him up and down to examine his pitiful ass. I can't believe I did everything this nigga told me to do!
Time to act and tell him about himself;
