CAI's POINT OF VIEW
"Caiya."
"Caiya...."
"Caiya Grant, do you not hear me?""Yes?" I rushed to say as I snapped out of being zoned out into my own world during class and looked up at my teacher whom was standing right next to my desk.
"I've been calling your name for the past 3 minutes." My teacher, Mrs. Barton said as she and the rest of the class stared at me. I looked around and slightly parted my lips to say something.
"Pay attention, young lady. The next time you start daydreaming, I'm gonna have to notify your parents. This isn't your first time doing this in my class. It's senior year and we are near the end." She explained to me.
"I-...I get it. My bad. I'll pay attention." I said as I sat up straight and looked down into my paper.
"Good. Now, let's carry on class. Everyone look ahead. Can anybody tell me what-..." She said but I didn't hear a word she said afterward "tell me what..."
I stared at my sheet of paper and started to remember the memorable event that happened just a few weeks ago.
It seems like I'll never get over what Trey did to me. Not even if I tried.
I really wanna tell somebody but I know that he will know that I opened my mouth and snitched. I can't have him hurting my Mom or possibly both of my parents because of me.
However, I have to tell somebody....
And I think that I know who I can trust enough to tell but when the time is right."CAIYA GRANT!" I then heard my teacher yell. I jumped and looked up.
"Y-...yes ma'am?" I said as I started shaking a little bit. She scared the hell out of me when she screamed.
"Grab your things. Now!" She told me in a stern voice.
"What did I do?" I asked her as I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"You're not paying attention! So, grab your things. Meet me outside." She commanded me. I sighed, threw my notebook into my backpack and roughly stood up.
"Dumb ass." I heard somebody behind me whisper.
"That's probably why she can't concentrate. Hoe ass." I heard another say.
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" I yelled as I turned towards the sea of students behind me. "NONE OF YOU EVEN KNOW ME! You just talk and talk and say things about me because of Darleen. And don't act like none of you know who she is because everybody knows that slut." I said as I felt a few tears run down my face. Angry tears. I was hot and tired of the bullshit.
"CAIYA! LEAVE NOW!" My teacher yelled behind me.
My chest started heaving up and down. I hated everybody in this damn school.
I looked towards the back of the class and found Demetrius looking at me in a shocked manner.
"Only weak girls cry. That's exactly what you are." I heard a random dude says as he smirked at me. "Gone on. You're making a fool out of yourself, Virgin Grant." He added as he tapped his pencil on the edge of the desk.
