Continuing from the last in chapter-
Later that nightCAIYA's POINT OF VIEW
I slouched down into my chair, folded my arms and looked around the circle that we all sat in.
I can't believe my parents actually made me come to this wack ass thing.
I don't care what anybody says; I'm not gonna participate. Fuck THAT.
I sighed as we all waited on Toni to appear. Nobody spoke and it was silent through out the room. So silent to where I actually payed attention to my heartbeat that I lightly felt just be sitting still.
"What's your name?" A random person asked that sat next to me. I looked her up and down, sucked my teeth and looked forward.
I didn't give a damn about anybody in this room. I was ready to get the fuck up outta here.
"Okay everybody. Sorry to be late. I uh, had some business to take care of but I'm here now." Toni said as she rushed into the room, sat her things down and quickly sat in a chair that was apart of the circle.
Toni looked at me, smiled and then looked around the circle.
I looked away from her and stared at my feet as I stretched them out a bit.
"So, I think that all of us should say hi to our new friend. Caiya, would you mind standing up and saying hi to everybody?"
I gave Toni a shocked look and everybody looked straight at me. It was about fifteen people in the circle. Not many but I still didn't wanna do this...
I stood up, shyly looked down and then sighed.
"Well, my name is a Caiya. I don't wanna be here but...yep, I'm here because I have no choice." I told everybody as I looked around."Hi Caiya." Everybody said in unison. After that, Toni asked me a question.
"Tell us a few hobbies of yours that you like." Toni asked.
I shyly shrugged my shoulders and looked at her.
"Everybody has a hobby." She then told me.
I sighed, looked at everybody once more and then took a deep breath.
"I painted and I once acted but not anymore. I don't have any hobbies." I said directly to Toni.
"And why is that? Don't worry. When it was everybody else's first day here, they had to answer the same questions."
"Because life happened. That's why. Next." I said as I sat down and stared at the empty floor.
The room then got silent. I knew that Toni knew that I didn't wanna be there.
"Anyways, who wants to start?" Toni asked the group. I kept my mouth shut and waited for somebody to speak up.
It was silent for a moment but then the same girl who asked for my name who sat beside me- spoke up.
"I'll go." She said in a low tone. Toni nodded her head. "Well, my name is Tonya. I'm sixteen and I'm here because my Dad raped me when I was 14 years old." She said as she lightly frowned. "I mean, come to see Dr. B- it's helped me a lot. She's helped me get through many things but sometimes, the pain doesn't go away. However, it took me exactly 14 months and 5 weeks to finally tell my Mom what he did to me. She cried once she found the truth out but after I told her, I felt so much freedom. Freedom that I never thought that I could have. My Dad is in prison now and I'll never have to see him ever again. Being a Daddy's girl back then, maybe this situation has made me hold a grudge against men. Yet, I can't help it but that's what she's helping me with." Tonya said as she finished with a smile. "So, thank you for helping me Dr. B." She added as she then started crying. Everybody stared at her and then watched Toni walk over towards her with a box of Kleenex. Toni squatted in front of her and helped her wipe her face.
