It had just been an ordinary night for you; you had been sitting at home on your not-so-comfy couch eating candy and other foods your father, Wade, had brought home after he returned from his part-time job.

Not even five minutes after handing you the various bags of sweets he left once again and left you alone on the luxurious apartment you two lived in like he did almost every night. You normally thought that if it wasn't for his job as an X-Men he'd probably spend more time with you.

"You can go somewhere, but if you're not back by the time I am here, you'll be in trouble." He lifted up his red mask to reveal his burnt face and raised his eyebrow teasingly at you with a smirk. That just showed that he wasn't completely serious so you nodded and let a laugh escape your lips

Once you heard the door close you turned off the small TV, you had watched that Drake & Josh episode like fifty times so it was no big deal if you missed it. You placed the bags of candy on the wooden centre and stood up with a groan, dragging your feet lazily against the soft carpeted floor. You walked into your messy room, which you had actually just cleaned like two hours prior, it was big though so you understood why it would get so messy; you opened your small closet and took out the outfit that was buried at the back of it so no one would see it.

You walked into the bathroom that was connected to your bedroom and took out a packet of baby wipes from a cabinet under the sink. You still had traces of foundation on your face that you wanted to get rid of. You wiped all of the foundation off, revealing the noticeable scar that began at the bottom of your nose and ended at the bottom left corner of your lips. You hate the scar so you never get out of the house without makeup to hide it unless you were doing your nightly duties like that particular cold winter night.

You put your outfit on in a rush, discarding the red oversized sweatshirt and shorts that you were previously wearing to the side. Your navy blue catsuit fit nicely around your figure, you reached for the mask that you had thrown on the bed and put it on. The window to the fire escape was wide open so you slipped out of the room with ease and ventured into the streets of New York. It was December, which meant the city was typically covered in a thin white layer of snow.

It used to be your favourite time of year; it was always so magical and filled with joy and hope, but now you just weren't as fond of it as you used to when you were a little girl.

You stood on the fire escape for a few seconds before climbing to the rooftop. Your apartment was on the top floor and you loved to see the entire city from above, it looked breathtaking, especially at night with all the lights turned on.

Before you could actually take off and begin with your job as a famous Vigilante, light footsteps caught your attention, making a smile appear on your face. "Underoos! Hi!" You laughed before the other masked vigilante could scare you from behind as he did often.

"Babypool, it's nice to see you!" Spider-Man replied with a laugh as he sat next to you on the edge of the building lazily, his mask was lifted up so you could only see his chapped lips, something he did whenever he saw you since he had never seen your face and you had never seen his, at least nothing except the lips. Those were very important ground rules you had established months ago when you two first met.

"Haven't seen you in a few days Winniepool, how has everything been?" You laughed sarcastically at his stupid nickname, but he just smiled even wider.

"When will you stop calling me that?" You mumbled in annoyance, smacking the teen on the head "Anyways, everything's been going great, but Christmas time is quite depressing to be honest." You mumbled out with a shrug, you swung your legs back and forth like a little kid avoiding his gaze.
