It's back people, I might make this into a three part series so yeah.. (2/3)
You still wore the red dress as you waited outside of the king's office, your hands were clammy and you found yourself jumping in both surprise and fear as you'd hear Tom and his father raise their voices as loud as humanly possible, roaring at each other, your head hung low in shame, why did you think this would work out? It was madness.
There wasn't much to pick up from the conversation they were having, they might've been shouting at the top of their lungs, but their sentences were rushed and even a bit slurred, as if they were drunk.
Sam would look at you with worried eyes every now and then, noticing how your lips trembled and how tears threatened to fall from your bloodshot eyes, guilt would run down his veins every time he heard them raise their voice, if they hadn't planned anything, they wouldn't be in that situation, you wouldn't be in risk of getting assassinated for committing what their father considered treason.
He wasn't even supposed to be sitting next to you at that very moment, he was supposed to be in his chambers until his father said otherwise, but after seeing your terrified state he couldn't bring himself to leave your side, not when this was happening to you because of his own fault.
"You should leave Sam, I appreciate you for staying with me, but your father wouldn't like it, everything is okay." You told him as you managed to display a convincing smile, not wanting another one of the boys to get in trouble, Tom shouldn't even have to go through that, if only you hadn't shown up to the ball, maybe right now he'd be organizing wedding plans and he'd end up marrying Elena, maybe, just maybe, you would've been happier if things had gone that way, because you'd know Tom was happy.
Meanwhile, Tom seemed like a cartoon character, with smoke close to coming out of his ears thanks to all the anger and frustration his father was causing him at that exact second, "I gave you three months to make my decision! You said I could send them all home!"
"I never said you could sneak around with a maid behind my back! Grow the fuck up Thomas; you can't get what you want all the bloody time!" His father smashed his fists against the table and harshly stood up from the seat.
"This is not a bloody whim, don't you get it? I fucking love her!" To be honest, Tom had never dared to raise his voice at his father, he had always obeyed his orders without much thought, however, that was not the case in that specific moment.
Dominic halted at his son's words, his eyebrows raised in surprise but he quickly shook his head, cursing under his breath, "You do not know what you're saying." Tom scoffed, he just wanted this pointless argument to end, they both knew Tom would do anything to get what he wanted, no matter what it was and that was no exception, Dominic Holland also knew his son was not dumb, he was young, yes, but his son was very wise.
"You will marry Elena and that's the end of this fucking discussion!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, wanting to make sure you heard him, and you did, Sam did as well.
His words felt like a knife to the heart, they made your heart pick up its pace in a bad way and fear settle deep into your soul, afraid of what would happen to you after all that Tom had told him, you were going to die and you knew it.
Next thing you knew, you were being dragged away from Sam and Tom, who had just got out of his father's office with tears streaming down his cheeks, by two guards before you could say another word to him or even try to run to Tom, he was struggling to try to get out of the grasp of another guard, all he wanted was to tell you everything was okay, like he promised it would be the moment before he stepped foot into his father's office.
"Let the kids go!" You heard a familiar voice shout, you whipped your head around and noticed the Queen walking down the hall to your direction, when the guards let you go, you lightly rubbed your left arm, which the guard had been holding particularly hard, "Sam, I thought we ordered to go to your room."
Sam nodded and quickly walked away in the direction of his room, Nikki's eyes fell on you, a small smile made its way to her face, "you two, please wait out here for a second." She motioned for you to take a seat next to Tom on the sofa next to the big window, which was situated right in front of the king's office, you watched as the queen entered the office and closed the door behind her, leaving you sitting on the hallway with Tom next to you and two guards watching over the two of you.
You finally took a good look at Tom, your teary eyes meeting his, his look of sadness was replaced by a sweet smile, you knew he didn't want you to acknowledge the fact that he was just as scared as you were at that very second.
He took your hand in his and brought it up to his lips and kissed it softly, mumbling an I love you after letting your hand go, 'I love you more.' You mouthed in response, last time you had said I love you to each other was before breaking up, before everything went to shit.
Minutes passed, you hadn't heard any shouting, unlike earlier, they were both quiet, something you decided to take as a good sign, as a sign that everything was going to end up being just fine.
"I never got to tell you how wonderful that dress looks on you my princess, you look stunning." He whispered with a smile, distracting you from all that was happening at that moment, you blushed, like you always seemed to do when you were with the brown eyed boy you adored so much.
You wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on the space between his shoulder and his neck, you moved your head a little and left a soft kiss on his jawline, "I love you so much and that won't change, no matter what happens."
Both of you had your eyes closed, Tom was leaning back on the couch, one of his hands was playing with your hair.
When the king and queen walked out after almost an hour of discussing about their son, the first thing they noticed when they opened the doors that led to the office was the two people sleeping peacefully on the white couch, Nikki smiled, wishing she had her camera so she could take a picture, "Look at them and tell me they don't belong together Dom, we've known this was going to happen since Y/N and Tom first met."
"This is something we cannot take away from them, not like our parents tried to do with us."
