Part two of Christmas Cookies :))

There was nothing like utter silence in an early morning. Before Tilly got up and Tom's family arrived, you got to enjoy a relaxing breakfast with Tom and even exchange a few gifts.

Ever since you started dating Tom, one of your main goals was to make Christmas a bit more special for Tilly. You always put loads of work just so that the little girl would believe in Santa one more year and Tom appreciated it so much.

Just a few days earlier, the day after you had baked cookies with her, Tom sat down and had a chat with his sweet nine-year-old, about you. He couldn't really keep the conversation out of his thought since it happened.

You had gone out shopping with Harrison for Christmas gifts, which left Tom and Matilda alone for the whole day. It was the first time in a while that he wasn't busy and actually got to spend quality time with his daughter.

She sat Tom down on the tiniest stool he had ever seen and he even got worried that he'd be too heavy to actually be supported by the damn thing. Tilly forced him to put on a silly pair of wings and a sparkly crown that was ridiculously small for his head. The kid honestly wasn't  fond of playing tea time anymore, but she'd do anything to poke a bit of fun at her dad.

He gulped when he saw his daughter walk to the makeup drawer and pull out eyeshadows and lipsticks. Tom didn't complain though, instead, he let her paint all over his face with a lipstick that he wouldn't be able to wash off any time soon. Once they were done, she made him prepare peppermint tea for them to drink on her porcelain tea set.

She'd complain every time he wouldn't lift his pinky before taking a sip of the hot tea. Tom would playfully roll his eyes and lifted up his pinky a lot more than necessary.

Tom put the tea on the small table, ready to ask his daughter the question he had been dreading, "So... Princess, do you like Y/N living with us?" He asked gently, you had only moved in with them a month prior. The little girl nodded eagerly as she also put her cup down, "That's a silly question. I obviously do, I love Y/N a lot."

He smiled and nodded at the response, happy to hear that she loved you just as much as he did, "So, would you mind if I asked her to marry me?" Tom finally dropped the bomb. He felt less nervous after her previous response, but Tom knew it was still a big deal for the two of them.

"Really?" Tilly burst into tears as she heard the news, which just made him panic instantly, little did he know they were actually tears of joy. Matilda loved the idea of finally being able to have a mom again, "I'd really like that. I miss having a mum sometimes."

She had bugged him all afternoon about helping him pick out the ring. He brought her along to go ring shopping the very next day. After a while, with the help of his mum and daughter, he picked out a ring he was sure you'd love.

That's what brought him to that moment. He was anxious about what your reaction would be. Tom was dreading the moment when his daughter would walk down the stairs, begging to open up her gifts, because that meant it was practically go time.

His family arrived before that though. You received them with hugs, happy to spend time with the Hollands after not seeing them for two months.

Once Matilda finally made her way down the stairs, she made everyone sit in the living room and open presents. There was no complaint as everyone followed her petition.

You couldn't keep your eyes off of Tom as he opened the presents you had for him. You were nervous that he wouldn't like what you had picked out for him. His grateful smile showed otherwise, however.

All eyes fell on you as you started opening up the presents Tom had for you, which made you just a bit nervous. His presents mainly consisted of things you'd look at whenever you went out with him, like books, clothes and even a few vinyls. You let out a sigh of relief you didn't notice you were holding when you unwrapped the last present.

It was a small box and it made you nervous that maybe there was something crazy expensive inside it. You noticed Harry take out his camera and start recording.

Tom put his warm hand over yours just when you were about to open the box, he sighed softly and asked Matilda to sit next to you, "Tilly and I, we used to be alone. You know, after her mother walked out on us, we struggled a lot. In fact, for a while, I thought I'd never be in love again and my daughter would never have a mother figure to look up to,"

"But then you walked into my life, our lives and completely turned them around. Made things right. I can truly tell you, it had been a while since I saw her so happy. I had a conversation with Tilly the other day, about you and us. We are both so sure that you're the best thing that could happen to us and we want that to be forever... If you want that too," You felt like your breath had got caught in your throat at his words. You looked into his brown eyes with tears already accumulating in yours. He smiled lovingly and softly asked you to open the box.

Inside sat one of the prettiest rings you had ever seen. It had your birthstone on the middle and around it tiny jewels. You had seen nothing like it. He spoke up nervously after a few minutes of silence, "Will you marry me Y/N?"

You nodded frantically and jumped into his arms. That was probably the best Christmas you ever had.

I know it isn't even Christmas anymore but I hope you like it anyway! Thank you guys so much for all the support on yesterday's imagine. It warms my heart to know you guys enjoy what I write :))
