The excitement of standing in front of a crowd never got old. It didn't matter how big or small the crowd was, it always managed to excite you more than anything else. You had stopped singing after you started teaching, but yet another school year had finished and you had so much time on your hands now that it was summer. That's how you ended up at your friend's café late at night with your guitar in hand ready to do an improvised gig,

Cassie had been sitting down in a booth next to Harrison as she filmed everything. Not many people were around, only around 10 people were there. You took a deep breath before playing the last song, "So this is Love Of My Life by Queen, um, enjoy." Your fingers brushed against the cold metal strings softly.

You hadn't noticed Tom sitting at the very back as he looked at you. Tom had been so hesitant to tag along with Harrison, but he was not going to lie, he missed you and your voice and every time you'd sing to him whenever he asked you to sing something to him before he left. Tom was surprised to find out that instead of being a famous singer, you were a primary school teacher. Sure, you were amazing with children, but even when you were kids, you had made a name for yourself because of your dancing, singing and acting. Especially because you had been part of a musical in the West End.

You've stolen my love, you now desert me
Love of my life, can't you see?

Your voice was just as sweet and delicate as he remembered. He watched you in awe as you sang with that unpreoccupied stance you always held whenever you were playing an instrument or singing along to a song you loved.

Tom's head was resting on your stomach as you both looked at the stars. Your parents had decided on doing a small bonfire night with Tom's and just as it happened on several occasions, your parents had left you two alone. Music was playing on the speaker, from a playlist the two of you had made. It was mostly made up of  70's music as you both loved it.

You had been singing Don't Go Breaking My Heart on a low volume as he hummed along, but the moment Dancing Queen came along, you got so excited and stood up, dragging Tom with you.  Your finger was pointed at him as you jumped around, "You can dance! You can jive! Having the time of your life."

"Oh see that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen!" Tom sang along with you as you giggled softly. He twirled you around swiftly and dipped you as you sang the next lines. It had been what you called 'your song' since you were little as you'd always dance along whenever it came up on the radio or at a party. You let out a squeal as he carried you and spun you around with ease.

You kissed him for the second time since you were 15 while you were in his arms. Your arms wrapped around his neck as you moved your lips against his in a passionate and slow dance that just felt right. Tom swore he could see stars. Kissing you had always felt like the best thing in the world, at least it had those two times. It felt like a firework show was going on inside his stomach.

"Should we be doing this?" You whispered against Tom's lips. He stayed silent for a second, "I don't know, but it feels right, doesn't it?"

You nodded, pressing your forehead to his, "Yeah," You responded and crashed your lips to his one more time. Your hands cupped his cheeks.

Whenever Tom thought back on it, he couldn't figure out why the two of you never dated. He had a vague memory of asking you on a date the day before your fight, but because of it, nothing happened after. As he looked at you perform, he couldn't help but think of the what-ifs. There were just so many...

Once you hopped off the stage, Tom left before you could even see him. Harrison complained numerous times but sighed before following.

Cassie smiled at you as you approached her table and sat down next to her, "That was beautiful Y/N!" She exclaimed while you regained your breath. A laugh fell from your lips. The adrenaline rush you got from singing was one of the best feelings in the world, "Hey, I thought Haz was coming tonight."

Your best friend just shrugged her shoulders. She knew it wasn't the smartest idea to tell you that Tom had been there, but yet again, you always found out, "He left with Tom like a minute ago."

"Tom was here?!" You shrieked, making her flinch slightly. Cass nodded in confirmation and a few more complaints spilt past your lips. She rolled her eyes at your reaction. Cassidy could tell how hesitant the two of you were to admit that both of you were in the wrong instead you just fell into the cycle of blaming each other. You more than the brunette, he was slowly starting to realise that he wanted you back in his life and if all he needed to do to get you back was apologise, maybe he'd do it.

For the longest time, you had blamed the other of being too selfish to understand, when in reality, both of you were being too stubborn. Cas and Harrison could see it, it was a shame the two of you didn't.

As Tom sat on the couch and rewatched the video of you singing over and over again, he realised an audience of ten people was not enough, not for your talent. That moment was when he did something, maybe you'd hate him for it, but after all, you already did, so what did he have left to lose?

He sent a text to his assistant, "Tell Greg to give it a listen please." Tom pressed send after contemplating it for a bit, and just like that, he changed your life.
