You had been very moody lately and Peter was still trying to do the impossible to find out why, normally, you wouldn't doubt for a second about telling him what was bothering you, but now he only got death stares every time he asked you if you were okay.
Peter thought you were really mad at him for some reason, but, you were never mad and he was starting to wonder if it had to do with something or someone else.
As you were walking down the halls of Midtown High next to Peter he noticed your gaze was on the floor and the sweet smile on your face wasn't present, you weren't telling him about what you had done the previous afternoon and you weren't whining about Chemistry like you usually were on a daily basis.
"Are you feeling okay angel?" Peter asked in a hushed tone, not wanting Ned to hear the conversation, his gaze was fixed on you, he was biting his lip nervously waiting for your response, he didn't like seeing you mad, or sad, you were his best friend after all.
"Yes, I'm feeling perfectly fine, better than ever actually. See you later." You told him coldly before storming past him without another word, Peter's eyes were wide in surprise, you were a calm person who rarely was even a bit rude to anyone.
Peter let out a groan of frustration and walked to his next class, the thought of you lingering in his mind, he was determined to find out what had been bugging you for weeks because it clearly had you very upset.
He tried asking you about it multiple times but that just made you snap at him constantly, so he just stopped trying until you told him by yourself, he knew you hated being pressured into admitting things and you were a very closed off person, you never gave away many things about you, only to Peter of course but at that moment, you acted as if you hated him.
You were truly upset that you were taking all your anger out on your best friend while he was always so loving and caring towards you, but you couldn't help it, you weren't exactly popular and the only person you truly trusted was Peter but at that moment you didn't want to bother him with all your mundane problems, he probably had too much on his plate at the moment, he was struggling with school and being Spider-Man, you didn't' want to bother him even if you knew he wouldn't even mind.
"Can you kill me already?" You told Michelle as you laid down on the mat during P.E. not even bothering to do anything at all; the curly haired girl took her attention away from her book and focused it on you, "Look, I know you're upset but talk to Peter, he has been bugging me about what's wrong with you and it's making me go mental."
You rolled your eyes at Michelle, but you knew she was right, Peter told you everything and anything and it was just not right for you not to do so, he trusted you with everything, you were the first person to find out he was Spider-Man, that was a big deal, "Ugh, fine."
You were sitting on your bed later that night reading an old Archie comic you had probably read at least a thousand times debating whether or not you should call Peter that late at night, it was almost midnight and he was probably exhausted from having to watch Queens all afternoon.
After a few minutes, you finally got up from your comfortable bed and grabbed your phone from your small desk, you quickly dialled Peter's number, hoping he'd answer because you really needed your best friend.
"Hey Y/N, is everything okay?" Peter answered quickly with a tired voice, like the one he had after waking up, you felt slightly guilty for waking him up.
"Yeah, everything's perfectly fine, just... Can you please come over?" You told him shyly, he agreed almost instantly and hung the phone, a smile made its way into your face, when it came to you Peter would do things in a heartbeat to make you notice how much he cared about you.
Peter came into your room five minutes later, you lived in the same building so it was never a big effort to visit each other, he smiled at you and took a seat next to you on the small bed, he was happy that you were finally going to tell him why you had been so off lately.
"First of all, I want to apologize for being such a bitch Peter, you didn't deserve that, I'm sorry for taking all my anger out on you and I'm sorry for ignoring you." Peter nodded at your comment, signalising that you could continue talking, "I know you're already so stressed out with your Spider-Man duties and I hate to bother you all the time."
"You could never bother me Y/N, you're my best friend and I'm here to listen to you just let it all out." He whispered, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and bringing you closer to his chest, you snuggled closer to his chest and relaxed in his arms.
"Luke dumped me, in our anniversary and over text! Can you believe it? Al that love at first sight thing is bullshit. I'm also failing almost every single class right now and the college applications I sent in were rejected." You told him quietly, you could go on an on about the shitty months you were having, but you knew that Peter wanted you to relax for a few hours at least.
"I'm sorry about Luke angel, he was a douche, you just haven't found the right guy yet, he'll come, I promise, as of school, everything will get better, I promise you, just, please don't forget I'm here for you, yeah?" You let out a small laugh but nodded nonetheless, you wrapped your arms around his waist, embracing the warmth radiating off of him.
