Tom Holland was the first person that showed you what having a best friend is like, at just the age of eight, he was the only friend you had thanks to the fact that your parents decided to homeschool you instead of signing you into a school so making friends was pretty difficult for you.
You'd tell each other everything important that could happen to an eight-year-old, like how you had found a funny looking frog at the park or how he had learned a new dance step at the new dance school his mother had signed him up at, sometimes he'd tried to show you the choreography but would eventually give up, because according to him, you had two left feet, which was funny since you had taken dance classes for way longer than he had.
You two were always together, whether it was playing with dolls at your house, going to the park or playing with Tom's two younger brothers, your parents got along just great so it was never a problem to set playdates for the two of you.
"Just relax Y/N, I mean it's not like you're going to fall in the middle of the stage like when you were in Swan Lake two years ago." Tom smiled at you, he'd hope to see you smile with his lame attempt of a joke, but you just frowned, "I'm just taking the piss a little, don't worry."
"You're the worst best friend in the history of best friends Tom." You let out a small giggle, Tom just rolled his eyes and pushed you softly, earning a laugh from you.
"Good luck," Tom whispered before he ran to his seat, leaving you backstage with your heart beating rapidly, to say you were nervous was an understatement, you were terrified, to say the least, after your small accident when you were six, you were terrified to do a solo, but when the teacher offered you one, you just could not decline.
"Let's welcome with a round of applause our first soloist of the afternoon, Y/N L/N!" You sighed as you heard your name called, people clapped as you settled yourself on the middle of the stage on fourth position, this dance was easy, you could do this.
Tom gave you a thumbs up before the music started, you let out a breath and started dancing, two pirouettes, a leap, you had practised this so many times, it was all going to be okay, you did an arabesque and finally bowed.
You walked out of the stage with a bright smile, when you walked to where Tom was sitting, you noticed a smile that matched yours.
"You were amazing N/N, I told you, you could do it."

You were waiting anxiously for a call from Tom, he had been waiting to see if he got the role of Lucas on The Impossible and you were just as anxious as he was, Tom had worked so hard to get the part, he deserved it.As you were about to continue the drawing you had been doing, your mum walked into your room, a phone in hand, 'It's Tom.' She mouthed.
You stood up from your desk chair and grabbed the phone from her hands, she walked out of your room and closed the door.
"So, did you get it?"
"A simple hello would have been great, you know?" He laughed, you rolled your eyes, "Anyways, you know how things sometimes don't go the way you want them to?" Tom said, you sighed, he didn't get it.
"Yeah well that's not my case, I got it!" He screamed into the phone, a smile made its way to your face, "You idiot! I'm so proud of you!"
After that, Tom left for a few months, you weren't going to lie, you felt alone without him even if you Skyped on the daily, he was your best friend after all.
After The Impossible came out, Tom became well known because of his amazing performance, he got so many opportunities after and you couldn't be more proud of him.
You ran into Tom's arms when you saw him enter your room, he let something he was carrying on his hands drop to the floor and wrapped his arms around your waist, lifting you off of the ground slightly, it felt like an eternity since you had held each other close.
"Look at you! I've missed you, you big idiot!" You laughed, Tom put you down on the ground, but didn't let go of you, you relaxed in his arms and sighed in content, knowing he was going to stay for a while longer than last time.
"I've missed you more darling. Wait, I've got something to give you." He told you and finally let you go, he walked over to the small bag he had dropped on your carpeted floor when he first came inside and picked it up, Tom took a small box out of the bag.
"So, I know we've been seeing each other less and less because of how much I've been travelling around, so I wanted to make you a promise, I guess," He laughed nervously, "Just close your eyes for a second." You nodded and closed your eyes like he asked.
You felt how he took your hand in his delicately, Tom opened your hand carefully, he put something in your hand and closed it again, "There, you can open your eyes."
You opened your eyes and saw what was in your hand, you smiled, it was a silver necklace with two rings in it as if they were charms, both of your names were engraved in the outside of the ring and on the inside the word 'forever' was engraved.
"This is so cheesy, but I wanted to promise you that nothing will separate us, not the fame, not the time apart, I promise we will always be together." You still couldn't decide whether what you were about to do was the best or the worst decision you could've taken.
You cupped his face in your hands and softly crashed your lips into his, you felt how tense he was, for a second he didn't kiss back and your heart sank to your stomach in fear that you had made the wrong decision, but then he relaxed into your touch and started kissing back, much to your surprise.
"I've been waiting to do that for a while."He chuckled when you pulled apart from the kiss, you smiled up at him, maybe it was true, you two would always be together, whether it was as friends or lovers.
But then he left.
