I got a heart and I got a soul
Believe me I will use them both

He couldn't keep his eyes off Y/N as he watched her read on the couch, covered by a thin blanket. She had been sitting still for hours, turning page after page until she was about to finish the book.

Tom was smitten for the girl who just happened to be his best friend's sister. He couldn't help it, she was the sweetest, most gentle person Tom had ever met. Y/N was funny, lively and just perfect in general. He could easily point out every single thing he loved about her. From the way she'd scrunch up her nose whenever she laughed, or how adorable she looked when Y/N had to push her glasses up the bridge of her nose after they slid off too far.

It didn't matter if it was only an illusion, but Tom knew there was an unspoken feeling between the two of them that wasn't just platonic love. He would be heartbroken if his crush wasn't reciprocated.

Y/N felt eyes on her. She looked up from the book and her eyes met Tom's warm brown ones. She offered him a soft smile that made a blush creep up his cheeks. Y/N winked at him with a cheeky smirk on her face and went back to reading.

So kiss me where I lay down
My hands press to your cheeks
A long way from the playground

Tom was trying to push Y/N on the swings as she squealed and laughed, which just made him push harder, "That's too fast! I'm about to throw up," Y/N giggled and begged the young man to stop. They had gone to a party and left at two am only to head to the nearest park, where they liked to go whenever they liked to spend time alone.

As Y/N got off the swing set, her whole world was spinning. She fell backwards and Tom caught her before she could hit the ground. Both young adults laughed, "C'mon darling, let's get outta here," Tom sighed as he picked her up. She was a lot more drunk than he had initially thought

"Don't take me home Tommy, mum and dad will kill me," She cried in his arms. He hushed her softly and she snuggled into his chest, "Let's go to mine, yeah?"

His house wasn't too far away from the small playground, but he knew his arms would ache the next morning from carrying her all the way there.

When he walked into the house, Nikki was sitting down on the couch. Tom winced mentally at her angry expression, however, it softened the moment she noticed the sleepy girl in Tom's arms, "Sorry mum. We lost track of time," he whispered with an apologetic sigh. He was hoping and praying that Nikki wouldn't scream at him or she'd wake Y/N up.

"Just take her upstairs. I'll get some water and pills. You didn't drive here, did you?" Tom shook his head, "We walked here."

Tom took her up the stairs and laid her down on his bed. She whined in protest, not wanting to get away from him, "I'll go to the spare, darling. I'll be next door."

"Please don't leave me," She pulled him and Tom didn't resist it. He fell on the bed next to her and draped the covers over the two of them. Y/N wrapped her arms around his waist and tucked her face on the crook of his neck. It was the most affectionate she had ever been with him and it made him sad to think it was the alcohol acting.

When Nikki walked into the room, both of them were already fast asleep. She smiled softly and sighed, remembering those nights when she'd do the same crazy things with her husband.

Y/N woke up with a horrible headache. The first thing she noticed was that she definitely wasn't in her room, or she would've been woken up by Harrison before the sun even rose so they could play Xbox. Next thing she noticed, which made her wake up fully was Tom. He was sitting down on the bed scrolling through Twitter on his phone.
