Saturday. The sun is up. Bright and shinning but I am not. I am so tired. This is the only time I can get some of the sleep I so desperately need. The blankets are pulled up over my head. It's warm and quiet. Momma and Matt are not making a sound. It's peaceful. At least it was.
Max burst through my door. The door hits the wall behind it with a loud bang. He starts looking for something, but I have no idea what he is looking for. His inconsiderate behavior does not cease. Instead it intensifies.
I stretch out my hand to the alarm clock on my nightstand. I grab it and throw it as hard as I can at Max. I hit the wall next to Max's head. Even though I missed his big head I still got my point across.
Max quickly turns around. "Why you throwing things!" he yells.
"Get out of my room!" I shoot back.
He was so mad at me. He yelled at me and I yelled back. Luckily, Momma and Matt had left earlier so they weren't around to hear Max and me arguing. Momma and Matt would have been arguing along with us and it would have escalated to a fight.
Other than the clock, the rest of the day went well. Max left me alone. I got to get some more sleep. Momma and Matt came home later and they seemed okay. They were smiling and laughing. They weren't fighting. They weren't yelling at each other. I'm so glad they weren't there to hear Max and me.
"Ray," Momma calls. I turn my head toward the kitchen. "I need ya'll to clean up the house. We got company coming."
