When we butted heads, we really went at each other. I mean all out at each other. He says for me to do something and I thought it was stupid. I would ask him are you sure or do you really want me to do that. It would merely question him and we would get into an argument. He would tell me to shut the ____ up. He would rear his arm back and strike me across the face.
Matt could be intimidating sometimes down right terrifying. I would get a little scared sometimes, but I tried to never show it. You can never let them see that it bothers you. It just increase the power they have over you. It makes them feel bigger and better about themselves. If they know it bothers you then they will do it again and again.
If he was too threatening, I really would shut up. I was afraid of the consequences. You can only go so far before they really do get pissed off enough and knock the crap out of you, and knowing Matt's temper he would do it too. Even if I was his stepdaughter.
The trick is to find the line where it pisses them off enough to bother them but not enough to knock you out. Once you find the line, you stop and leave with the satisfaction of successfully pissing them off the way they do to you. And boy oh boy does that man piss me off.
