"Who's coming over?" I ask.
"Matt's poker friends. They will be here later," Momma leaves the kitchen and goes down the hall to her room without another word.
Great. I am going to have to clean the whole house mostly by myself. I know Max isn't going to help. He has barricaded himself in his room. I don't even know if Chloe is here to help. She might have left already. Momma is going to leave everything up to us and by us I mean me.
I am going to have to clean the house twice. Once today and once again after they leave. Matt's poker friends are so nasty. They always trash the house after one of their "parties". They leave their garbage everywhere, on the floor, on the furniture, and even in the bathroom. I am going to have two sinks full of dirty dishes afterwards. They are going to leave their dishes and glasses laying all over the house.
I know that tomorrow I will defiantly be cleaning by myself. Momma and Matt will be too hung over to help and it irritates the stew out of me. Just leave it to the middle school kids to clean up the house after the drunken poker party.
It will be even harder to sleep tonight. This is I am dreading the most. Matt's friends will be hooting and hollering till maybe two in the morning, maybe even later than that if they are having "fun". If you have ever been in a poker house, you understand how loud it gets. If you haven't I envy you. You got to sleep through the night.
