"That was it for today. Don't forget to like and subscribe to my channel. Please leave your comment down below about what recipe you would like to see in my next video. Bye guys & have a good day." I blow a kiss at the camera and stop the recording.
I sigh happy as I rest my head on my arm, that is resting on the counter top of my own kitchen in my new bought apartment in the centre of Los Angeles. I still cannot believe that I actually bought my first apartment. When I started my channel I never expected that it would turn in this big of a success. You are probably wondering what the hell happened since the last time when we have spoke. Well, basically... I turned my passion into my work.
It all started about 7 months ago. I was sitting at home. The only thing I did back then was going to college, sleeping and feeling sorry for myself about everything that had gone wrong in my life. One day, I woke up and something just had changed inside of me. I was disgusted by the person that I had become and I didn't wanted anything to do with her. I simply didn't recognized myself anymore. I realized that playing the victim wasn't going to bring me anywhere. There was nothing that kept me there any longer. I was the only one who was still holding on to the past, while everyone around me had already moved on.
So, instead of spending the whole day in bed, like I had done the previous 5 months, I got up and started writing in my little notebook about the things I was truly passionate about. And the one thing that kept coming back was cooking but starting a career as a chef wasn't really something that interested me. As you know I always had a passion for creating healthy food and especially how you can turn a 'diet' into a lifestyle. The only thing was that I didn't knew how to do it. Yes, I could write a blog or a book but it would be the so many book on the market about a healthy lifestyle. So, that wasn't an option. I wanted to do something that really would made an impact on other people's life.
For at least a month, I kept struggling with finding the right channel to reach people but it wasn't until something Brian had said such a long time ago, popped into my head: my own YouTube channel. Once I started my channel, all the pieces felt into its place.10 subscribers became 100 subscribers and before I knew it, I reached the absurd amount of 1 million subscribers in less than 3 months. That's when things started to move really quickly. People started to notice me. Famous Dutch talkshows invited me over to talk about the girl, who was a 'rising star'. Their words, not mine. Famous Dutch influencers wanted to meet up with me to collaborate, which soon turned into me having my own manager.
Yep, you are reading it right. Your girl has her own manager. Well, two. I have two managers nowadays. Scott and Susie. It all started with Susie. She is also from the Netherlands but not long after I hired her, the request from the States started to come in. Because Susie nor I had any clue about the ins and outs of the American law or business, Scott came into the picture. Ever since those two are in my life, it has been so much more peaceful. Of course, I still have dozens of requests every week but now Susie and Scott pick out the interesting ones out for me and I can choose which ones I will accept. Susie handles everything in Europe and Scott here in the America. I will tell more about them later. I am going to meet up with Scott later tonight for dinner anyway. So, what else is there to talk about? Well, like I said, I bought an apartment here in Los Angeles about two and a half months ago. Right after I graduated. You know what the absolute best thing is? Well, it is that Anna, my best friend from home, moved with me to LA and is now living with me. She is following some styling course here in LA. and that automatically brings me to Luca and Jack. Where should I start? Well, basically Anna met Luca at the company she does her internship at. Luca is the CEO of the company. The moment I met Luca, by pure coincidence may I add. Anna had left her phone at home so, I dropped it off at her office and that is were I just met Luca, it felt like I had finally found my long lost soul sister. Yep, you are reading it correctly, Luca is one of the most handsome guys I have ever met in my life but extremely, extremely gay. The moment I saw him for the first time, I was literally blown away. He is tall, dark hair, gorgeous blue eyes, sleeves with tattoos and very manly looking and above all; Italian. Completely my type but once he opened his mouth, rainbows and flowers came out. All though, dating him wasn't an option, for obvious reasons, we started to hang out and actually became really, really good friends. That is where Jack comes into the picture. Jack is Luca's boyfriend. Well, sort off. They are an official couple but I know that Luca isn't really taking it too seriously... if you know what I mean. He lets his eyes wander from time to time. Now I think about it, not only his eyes... but well, not my business. Luca and Jack seem to be fine with it so, who am I to judge?
