"We are so grown up."- I say to Shawn as I watch him close the front door behind him. "We bought a house and out of nowhere we are old." Dinner parties. Damn, where did the time went that we would go out late until the early morning hours?
After I dropped Luca off at his home after lunch, Anna and I basically spend our afternoon in the home theater, bin watching 'friends'. I have watch every season so many times but somehow, I never grow tired of them. It is an ongoing love story.
That was until Shawn came home, about 2 hours ago. Let's just say that he wasn't too happy about me hanging up the phone on him. But in my defense, if I would have let him talk, I know that he would had convinced me to not go tonight. You probably are wondering how he would have had convinced me? Well, with sex. That is his secret weapon for everything.
But because of the little time we had until we had to leave, with getting ready and making a photo for the gram to announce our engagement, the dude couldn't work his magic and that's is how we ended up here.
"You were the one who wanted to go."- he says as he takes my hand in his and walk down our driveway. "I would have been fine with cuddling and watching a movie all night."
"O yeah, that sounds way more young and exciting."- I roll my eyes playfully and shake my head. "You are such an old grandpa."
"I actually prefer it when you call me 'daddy' or 'papi'." He says and turns his head to me with a smirk clearly present.
"I bet you do."
"It is not too late to turn around and let me bent you over the dining table."
I stop death in my tracks and look at him.
"What?." He says after a couple of seconds as I am staring at his face.
"You need Jesus... or a shrink."
"Would you rather have me not wanting to come near you at all?." I narrow my eyes at him. "That's what I thought."
"We can always still turn around. My offer still stands." Shawn continues as we begin our journey again, to the next door neighbor house.
"They probably already have seen us. And it would be rude to cancel last minute."
"Who cares. We can always say that something important came in between. A family drama or something."
"And then waking up tomorrow, with ours faces splattered over every gossip site? No, thanks. I will pass." I mean, how bad can a dinner be?
"Then we know for sure that we should not hang out with them." He states like it is the most obvious thing ever.
"Dude, you are suppose to be the nice, friendly Canadian one. You haven't even met them, so why are you so against this?."
"Alright, alright. I will stop."
Finally. "Thank you."
In a comfortable silence, we walk over their driveway to the front door of the house.
"Fuck..."- I mumble softly to myself. "I have to go back. I forgot..."-
Shawn smirks and hold up the two wine bottles in his hand.
"I knew you would forget so, I took them with me."
"What would I ever do without you?." But seriously, this guy saves my ass almost every day. If it wasn't for him, my life would be a lot harder.
"Nothing."- he says with a cocky smirk on his face as he rings the doorbell. "That is why you are marrying me."
"Touché." I chuckle as we both wait for the door the be opened.
