"Where are we going?." I say to Shawn as I step back into the car. After we went grocery shopping, he told me that we had to be quick because we have an appointment?
"You will see baby." He smiles at me and lock his phone.
"You ready?." He says as I watch him closely as he types an address in the navigation system of the car.
"Why are we going to Bel air?." This doesn't make sense at all. What kind of business do we have in that neighborhood?
"You will see." He enjoys this way too much.
When he is done and the navigation starts to work, we drive out of the underground garage of my apartment building. Just like when we arrived, there is still some paparazzi, waiting for us.
Luckily, the both of us have our sunglasses on. So, it is more bearable to endure the flashes of the cameras.
We quickly drive past them and continue our way to what I know but I am not for sure that Shawn knows is a gated community.
The drive to the location isn't that long but because of the famous LA traffic, it takes us over a hour to get there. As we take a left on sunset boulevard, we are met with a large gate.
See? I told you. You need to be an owner of a house to actually get access to the neighborhood. And that is good because I know that there are a lot of celebrities living here. I can only imagine the horror those people have to go through everyday if that wasn't the case.
Shawn stops the car and a security guard steps out of the little house.
"Good afternoon Sir."- Shawn says and take something out of his pocket and hand it over to the guy. "Here you go."What is that?
The guard studies the paper for a couple of seconds and nods his head. "Good luck." He says and steps back into the little house.
A few seconds later, the gate slowly begins to open.
"What the hell did you do? You not gave him money he? To open the gate for us?." We do not belong here. We do not own a house here.
He laughs out loud and shake his head but keeps quiet. I give up and look out of the window. He is not going to give in anyways. I know that by now. So, I just take in the stunning neighborhood. Because everyone who wants to come in is regulated, it is not necessary to have gates in front of your house. It would be nice if I have to go outside to walk Lou, to just walk outside and do not have to worry about paparazzi or fans jumping you. Now, I have to put on a full disguise to trick people.
"Nice neighbourhood he?." Shawn says as he looks between me and the road in front of him.
"Yeah. It's nice here. Peaceful." And that for LA. I feel like there is always something going on in LA.
"In a quarter of a mile you have reached your destination. The destination is on the right." The navigation says. What? There are only houses here.
Wait... what?
"What the hell are you up to, Shawn Peter Raul Mendes?." I look from Shawn to the houses that we pass.
"Surprise baby." He says as he drives on the driveway of a stunning white, modern looking house. It looks like a dream.
It all clicks as I see an estate agent standing near the front door. "You didn't." What the hell is going on here?
"Come on. We cannot let the man wait. Can we?." He winks, the fucker has the nerve to wink at me as he opens the door of the car.
Completely confused, I get out of the car as well. Shawn waits for me, and intertwine our fingers before walking to the waiting man.
