Let me in

"Come in." I move out of the way so that Shawn can come inside. Even though it's still quite warm in California, you start to feel that the autumn is coming. The nights are getting chillier.

"Hey..." Shawn says as I close the door and lean against it, staring at him.

"Not that I mind you being here but how did you find me?." Nobody other than Scott and Anna knows where I am. I kinda wanted to keep it that way

"I was hiding in your truck, the whole time."- he jokes. Trying to lighten the mood. "You didn't noticed?."

I try to crack a smile at his lame joke. "No, serious... nobody knows that I am here."

"Anna does..."- of course, I could have known. "She kinda set me on a mission."

A mission? Really?

"Why?."- please enlighten me, Shawn. "She thinks that I shouldn't be alone right now?."

"Something like that..."- he admits and nods his head. "And it's really isolated up here."

I snort softly. "Yeah, thats the point." I say a bit harshly.

He looks at me for a couple of seconds. "Did I made a mistake coming here?."

I look back at him for a couple of seconds. He drove all the way to come see if I was okay?

"Wow... she must be really worried about me if she encouraged you to drive all the way down here." I say as I walk to the fridge to grab something to drink. I am sure that after his drive he must be at least thirsty.

"She is...and so am I." He admits. I stop for a couple of seconds with what I am doing. He is worried about me?

"Are you worried about me... or about us?." I say as I hand him a water bottle.

"Both..." well, at least he is honest.

I sigh deeply as I sit down on one of the chairs in the kitchen. It's quiet for a couple of seconds before Shawn speaks up again.

"I made a complete fool out of myself by coming here, didn't I?."

Did he? Do I really mind that he is here? Sure, I was surprised to see him at first but now that he is here...

He takes my silence as confirmation. "I am..."- he rubs his face and let out a deep breath. "Sorry that I disturbed you. I will let Anna know that you are fine and I will see you when you get back in town, okay?." Without looking at me, he turns around and head to the door.

Wait?! He is going...

"Shawn, wait!." I say and jump up as he opens the front door. With confusion written all over his face, he turns around. "Don't go..."

"What? I thought that you... you are confusing me, Rose." Well, you and me both.

"I don't want you to go."- I say in all honesty. I walk over to him and help him take off his jacket. "Look, it is all long drive back."- and it's already late. "Just stay the night."

I dodge his eyes as I hang up his jacket, as I wait for some type of responds from him. When he still hasn't said anything after about 30 seconds, I continue the conversation.

"Do you really mean it? Or are you just saying that because you feel sorry for me?." He finally says.

"What? No! The truth is... I am getting kinda lonely here, all by myself."

"I don't even know where we stand."

"Me neither but the last thing I want is for you to walk out of that door and think that whatever we had is over... so, please, stay the night."
