"Is this just as bad as when we had broken up and the paparazzi were camping out in front of your house?." Shawn says as he sits down next to me in the waiting car and close the door behind him.
You probably had guessed it by now but yea, the news that Shawn and I are back together hit the fan. Literally. People are going crazy on the internet. Our original plan was to just stay at my parents house and hang out there. I mean, why not. It would have given us the perfect opportunity to spend some time with them, before we have to fly back to the States because of work.
But unfortunately, someone has spot us in the hospital together and has tipped the paparazzi off and now, just as we were about to leave the hospital to go to my parents, my mother called me, saying that there are vans parking in the street, waiting for us to arrive. So, we called Susie and she arranged a hotel room in a hotel somewhere in Amsterdam. It is not like my mom said that we couldn't come but I feel guilty, you know. They never asked to be sucked into this life. They never asked for their lives to be so public. They never had a chance to decide for themselves. So, the last thing I want to do is burden them with being photographed as soon as they leave the house. Because I know, that there is no chance of the paparazzi leaving as long as we are inside my parents house. So, to protect them, we are sleeping in a hotel.
"Similar but this time I do not find is a uncomfortable as then. Well, at least not for me."
"Why not?."
"I don't know. I do not really care to be honest. I am much more secure than I was before. If they want to take pictures of us, let them. They are not going to stop me from living my life."
"That is my girl." He says and lean in.
"I feel bad for my family though. My mom went out groceries shopping earlier, to prepare a 'Welcome home' dinner for us."
"We can meet up with the somewhere for dinner. I can arrange that we have a private room or something. No one will bother us. I promise you."
"I know baby."- he is sweet and he tries so hard. "But that wouldn't really be the same. Lets just spend the night in the hotel room. Hopefully, tomorrow the buzz of us being here has worn out."
"Do you really want to spend the entire night being stuck in a hotel room?."
"Do we really have a choice?." Trust me, that doesn't sound like the perfect night for me either but what choice do we have. We will be gone in a couple of days but my family will be ambushed by the Dutch paparazzi all week. I cannot do that to them. I would not do that to them.
"I maybe have a idea..."- he mumbles and start typing on his phone. "Does your house has back entrance?."
"You are insane..."- I mumble as I watch Shawn jump from platform to platform. You see, my garden is borders a pond and so do the gardens of my neighbors. So, the only way to get to my garden, is by crossing 4 other gardens or in other words, the platforms. When we were younger, we turned it into a sport to jump from platform to platform but now, 15 years later, I realize how much of a distance is between those. One wrong step and you are swimming with the fishes. And whatever is living in these dirty ponds. "Literally insane Shawn."
"You wanted a home cooked meal, Right?." He says as he jumps to the first platform like Jolly Jumper.
"Yea, but I do not want to die in advance." I mean, I could have cooked myself as well. If I know that this is what he meant, then I probably would have skipped and stayed in the hotel.
"O come on, chicken." He says as he holds his hand out for me. "It is not even that far."
I sigh deeply. "If I die, I at least expect you to give a bombass speech on my funeral."
