"Hey Rose! Glad to see that you are doing much better." Stacey, the receptionist says to me as I walk into Scott's company building.
"Hey Stace, yeah I am doing much better! How are you?." I give her a smile and sip on my 10 dollar coffee. Yeah confession, I spend yet again money on a way to overpriced coffee from a place down the road. I will never learn.
"I am amazing Rose! Thank you for asking!." I never really understand why people thank you when you simply ask how they are doing. Is it me or is it just normal to check up on someone? Well, that is how I am raised.
"Have a good day!." I yell as I step into the elevator. I stare at my reflection in the mirror of the elevator. The person who I see, is a complete different person that I saw a 5 days ago. My cheeks are a natural, healthy pink color, my eyes are sparkling and I have this permanent smile plastered on my face. I like the girl who I see. I think I will keep her.
Once the elevator reaches the top floor, I step out and I am greeted by Alexandra, Scott's personal assistant.
"Good morning Rose." She says as her cheerful self. I have to explain something. Well, more tell you a funny story. Alexandra is really, really cheerful. Almost a bit too much, if you know what I mean. In the time I work with Scott, I have never seen this girl moody. Never. I starting to doubt if she is even human. So, you can imagine what my mother's reaction was when she met Alexandra. I swear, it was hilarious and I almost died of laughter because of my mom's face. She was staring at her like she was the weirdest creature she had ever seen as Alexandra bounced through the room and was being her loud, extra self. The exact words my mother whispered to me were; I think she is high on drugs. Stay away from her. Do you know how hard it was for me to keep my laughter in? Yeah, good memories.
"Hey Alex, your cheerful self again, I see." Although, it's 8.30 in the morning, the girl looks like she has been awake for hours.
"Always! Scott is inside his room."
"Thanks!." I mumble as I walk through the hallway, to the huge door with Scott Davids, CEO written on it.
I knock but immediately push the door open. It's not like he isn't suspecting me.
Much to my surprise, Scott isn't alone. In front of him is sitting a beautiful, begin 30 looking woman, with extremely long legs. She is another client of his?
"Hey..."- I say a bit awkwardly as I just stormed in the room. "Am I too early?."
"Rose! Hey, no. You are perfectly on time."- Scott jumps up out of his seat and walks around his desk to me. "I would like to introduce you to Helena. If you like what she has to offer, she is going to reinforce our team as publicist."
A publicist? I know that we have talked about it before but I didn't knew that the meeting is was going to be held today. He at least could have given me a heads up that she was going to be here.
"Hey, call me Lena. Only people I don't like should call me Helena." She says with a bright smile on her face.
"Nice to meet you."- I shake her hand. "I am Rose but people normally call me... umm, Rose."- I don't even know what other names people call me. Yea, Shawn calls me baby but it would be a bit weird if she would start calling me pet names. So, Rose it is. "Sorry, I don't have other names then Rose."
She chuckles, a real chuckle not a fake one and smiles. "I will come up with one. Don't worry."
Okay, in the matter of a few seconds, I decided that I like this woman. She seems fun.
"I cannot wait to see you came up with." I say and together we laugh.
"Well, now introduction has been done. Let's start, okay?." Scott says, as he already gets impatient with womanly chitchat as he calls it.
No wonder why he is still single.
