Minutes felt they lasted forever, but yet the hours blurred together... let alone the days they were in there.
Nick was surprised she hadn't fallen asleep from everything that her body's been through, but she was almost too exhausted to be tired.
Too scared and on edge to sleep, she still felt that hope in her gut that Tony would find her- Find them.
But it was stupid to even think that given how long they were in a shipping container, and knowing that one of the things they definitely didn't add to her bracelet was a tracker, and the fact that she was wearing it? She felt useless.
Part of her was trying to imagine what they possibly could be in here for, but the other part of her kept her from spiraling with it because it'd start her breathlessness and racing heart.
Everyone was almost too scared to speak, and if they did, it wasn't louder than a whisper. They were exhausted, hungry, and thirsty... they had been put in there with just five water bottles that was apparently supposed to last the apparently planned journey. But at this point, they had one full bottle left, and all their stomach felt almost too empty to even drink it.
It had been about four and a half days just on the freighter, before they felt the ship stopping.
Nick quickly looked up and around them, having stayed in the corner closest to the doors because it had been her best attempt to keep back her claustrophobia - since it had been the best place to hear anything happening outside the container, there was also a rusted out piece of metal that allowed the smell of salt air to come in if there was a breeze with the small vents at the top.
It also allowed more light into the container than the small vents at the top, and being beside it helped her at least breathe.
"Where..?" A sharp whisper cut through the silence, since nobody had spoke in at least ten hours. "Where do you think they... they brought us?"
Nick tried to bend down a bit to look through the hole, before facing back forward, as the blonde looked towards her with a whisper. "Anything out there?"
She shook her head as she leaned her head back, and after a moment, the blonde crawled over. "I'm Paige."
"Nick." The girl spoke in a voice as quiet, and after a moment, Paige glanced briefly up to the doors before back at her. "The song you were humming was pretty."
Nick glanced over to her with her lips parted, before her lips closed as she tried to swallow spit but her tongue felt too dry and she closed her eyes with a half smile that was definitely forced a bit - before she glanced over. "I didn't know I was humming."
Paige sadly smiled but it was more for the girl's benefit, as the blonde moved to lean against the wall beside her, moving some of the blankets that had been thrown in there in case it got cold - and she leaned against the wall. "You don't look older than 16, so, I can't... I can't imagine you were at a club or... blind date."
