It's All Coming Together

 A few weeks had passed and school was pretty chill, Kate wasn't doing the private photography lessons, at least not yet, and Mr.Jefferson was only being an average amount of creepy. Rachel did notice he always paired her, Kate and Nathan together, and always seemed happy when he saw them hanging out together in the hallway. Victoria had started to seem jealous of Kate and Rachel, she was always annoyed when Rachel Kate and Nathan were paired together and even more annoyed when Nathan chose to hang out with them. It also made Victoria hate Rachel and Kate more, which Rachel didn't care about since she didn't like Victoria either.

That night at dinner Nathan's dad said: "Nathan you know that thing that I'm building underneath that old barn?"

"Ya."

"Well it's for you, Mr.Jefferson told me he thought you were doing really well in photography, and this is going to be a personal project for you, it's going to be a big room with a bunch of really good cameras that you can use to practice your photography. Mr.Jefferson said that if this goes well he can recommend you to many colleges. It's also being used as an underground bunker in case anything were to happen." Nathan knew something was up with this, there was no way Mr.Jefferson was just going to make a room just for him to practice photography. Nathan knew if he objected it would result in his father yelling at him, so the only useful thing to do was get as much information as he can. "When will it be built by?"

"It should be ready by December."

"Did Mr.Jefferson offer this to anyone else?"

"No, just you." That made Nathan nervous, he wasn't sure if Mr.Jefferson was going to do something bad to him.

"Ok, that sounds fun."

"I know, it's amazing."

The next day at school Nathan ran to his locker in hopes that Rachel would be there, he had to tell her everything about the photography room thing. Once he got to her locker he said: "Rachel I need to tell you something."

"Nathan are you ok?"

"I don't know."

"Nathan, what's wrong?"

"You know how a few weeks ago we talked about Mr.Jefferson being up to something with the security camera being off?"

"Yes, I remember that."

"Guess what, my dad has been building this big room under a barn, and guess what, he said that Mr.Jefferson said it was for me, to practice my photography skills, I asked him if it was for anyone else and he said no. I asked him when it would be ready and he said December. Rachel, there is no way it's for me to work on my photography skills."

"What barn is it?"

"I don't know."

"Ok that is definitely weird, on the bright side we have until December to come up with something."

"You're right, it's all going to be fine."

The first thing Rachel thought of was TDR, Chloe had told her about how Mr.Jefferson was looking at barns, and blueprints for one big room. Chloe and Rachel were almost positive the 2 things were related and they are. Chloe also told her about the phone call with Mr.Jefferson and Nathan's dad. It was all coming together, the only thing she and Chloe didn't know was what Mr.Jefferson was actually planning on doing. She was almost positive it involved her Nathan and Kate.

After Rachel was done talking to Nathan she ran outside and went behind the school. She dialled Chloe's number and 3 rings later Chloe answered. "Chloe it's happening, it's all happening."

"What's happening?"

"TDR, Nathan came and told me his dad told him that Mr.Jefferson wanted to build a big room under a barn that Nathan is going to use for this photography project. Nathan said Mr.Jefferson said it was only for him, he said it will be built in December."

"Fuck, did he say what barn."

"No, he doesn't know that."

"Of course he doesn't."

"He's getting Nathan alone, what do you think he will do to him?"

"It's not Nathan I'm worried about, his dad is funding it, Mr.Jefferson wouldn't do anything to Nathan and give his dad the location. I'm more worried about you and Kate. What if he is using Nathan to lure you and Kate in, think about it, all summer he made sure you guys hung out, and now that you are friends if he can get Nathan on his side it won't be hard to get to you and Kate. So you should start being careful around Nathan." Then Rachel heard someone else say "Chloe get off your phone."

Then Chloe said "I have to go Rachel, I'll talk to you later." and hung up.

Nathan wasn't sure why he hadn't told Rachel about his and Mr.Jefferson's agreement, but he also knew Rachel was hiding stuff from him as well. Mr.Jefferson said he would give Nathan amazing grades if he did whatever he asked in return. Nathan was starting to realize that it wasn't the best idea to blindly agree to something like that. He wanted to go up to Mr.Jefferson and tell him he wanted to go back on their deal but had a feeling that wouldn't go too well, and Nathan would rather be on Mr.Jefferson's good side.
