Frank's Secret

As the days went on Rachel would tell Chloe everything that was happening with Mr.Jefferson, and how people were bullying Kate. Chloe started to get more and more concerned about what was happening at Blackwell.

One day Chloe said: "Rachel this is getting really bad. It's going too far, we can't handle it anymore. With everything we have done people are still getting hurt. We were supposed to help Nathan figure out a plan to get him away from TDR but we didn't, and now because of that, he is going around drugging people. We knew that there was something up with the Vortex Club party, yet we didn't protect Kate from getting hurt. I think we should call the police before someone else gets hurt."

"We can't call the police, I know Nathan has done some fucked up things, but I trust him. If he told me not to call the police I don't think we should, it could just lead to more bad things. Also, Kate wasn't our fault, I wasn't feeling well, I needed some fresh air. We thought she would be safe with Nathan. For Nathan, I don't think there was anything we could have done, his dad would have forced him into it, we couldn't have prevented that."

"I know these things weren't our fault, but the police could have stopped them from happening in the first place." Chloe stated.

"I think bringing the police into this will cause more problems than it would solve, because when they question Nathan he is going to lie to protect Mr.Jefferson, and that won't help anything."

"I guess so, but Rachel please be safe, you know what Mr.Jefferson and Nathan are capable of, don't fall into that trap."

"Don't worry, I'll be safe."

Rachel and Chloe spent the next few hours at Chloe's house hanging out and watching movies. At around 8 Rachel told Chloe she had to go home, but her dad and Rose weren't going to be home until 11 so she went to Frank's RV to hang out.

Once Rachel got there Frank could tell that something was bothering her. "What's wrong?" Frank asked.

"Oh just Mr.Jefferson, he's been doing some pretty bad things recently." Rachel said, she wasn't sure why she was telling him this, but she had begun to trust Frank over the time she had gotten to know him. "What has he been doing?" Frank said, with genuine concern. "I'm not sure you will believe me, I know most adults wouldn't."

"Rachel I know Mark Jefferson, I'll believe whatever you tell me, no matter how bad it is."

"Ok, but I don't think I'm supposed to tell you this so don't tell anyone."

"Who am I going to tell?" Frank asked, jokingly.

"That's a good point. Mr.Jefferson got Nathan to drug Kate, and apparently, that isn't the first girl he has done that to. Nathan mentioned another girl named Lily, and said there were many more. He also said Kate won't be the last girl he does this to, there will be more."

"Rachel can I tell you something in return."

"Sure."

"I used to work with Mark Jefferson." Frank said, and Rachel realized he was about to tell her what she had been trying to get him to tell her for the past few years. "I used to supply him with some stuff, he would take creepy pictures of girls in public places. I had speculated on what he was doing, but I keep telling myself that he wouldn't do that. I knew Mr.Jefferson wasn't the best person, but I didn't think he was that bad. I would make up excuses for him, such as maybe he was taking a picture of that tree behind that girl. He was a good friend of mine, and I didn't want to believe what was happening. I knew Lily, Mark Jefferson said he needed my help doing this photoshoot. I got a bad feeling in my gut that it wasn't just any photoshoot, but once again I told myself that I was wrong, and was making it into something it wasn't. When I saw what he did to her, the kind of pictures he was taking of her, I couldn't lie to myself anymore. I couldn't make any more excuses for him. I ended my friendship with him, I told him I didn't want a part in whatever he was doing. I haven't talked to him since."

Rachel couldn't believe it, not only did Frank work for Mr.Jefferson, but she also realized that Nathan was the new Frank. Though Frank had gotten out of it, he doesn't associate with Mr.Jefferson anymore so there was hope for Nathan. "Why didn't you report him?"

"Mark Jefferson and I had an unspoken agreement he knew that I had been supplying him with stuff and was there for what he did to Lily, so if I reported him I would get in trouble too. So I left him alone, and in return, he left me alone. I know it wasn't the right thing to do, but it's what I did." Rachel did understand. What Frank had done made sense, and it had safely gotten him away from Mr.Jefferson.

"I think Mr.Jefferson replaced you with Nathan." Rachel said.

"I've been thinking that too."

"Is there a way to get Nathan away from Mr.Jefferson like you?"

"I don't know, Mark Jefferson probably got Nathan's dad involved first, therefore it would be much harder to get away from that. He would have to get away from 2 people who have a lot of power over him. Especially since he is much younger than Mark Jefferson, he probably is taking advantage of that and making him make promises and do things way easier than it would have been with me. Also, he is probably in really deep with Mr.Jefferson, and the deeper in you get with him the harder it is to get away from him. I'm not sure there is a way to help Nathan." Rachel nodded. "I want you to know though, that if Mr.Jefferson is ever doing anything at school that makes you nervous. If you don't have anywhere else to go, you can come hang out here until school ends."

"Thank you." Rachel said, and then looked at the time. She hadn't realized how late it had gotten. "It's getting late, I should probably go."

"Ok, be safe."

"I will." Rachel said as she was walking out of Frank's trailer.
