Thirty-four - Elite's Surprise

"Kumusta na siya, Ivo?" Tanong ni Seth na kanina pa paroon at parito sa may bintana. Iniisip niyang napasobra ata siya sa mga sinabi niya kay Victoria.

"Ayos lang naman. Hayaan n'yo muna siyang magreflect. May sariling isip 'yon, hindi na batang paslit." Sagot ni Ivo at tumungo sa ref upang kumuha ng tubig. Matapos nito'y umupo siya sa pwesto niya sa hapag.

Dumating si Xavier na may mga papel na dala kasama si Calvin at Coco. Naupo rin sila sa pwesto nila at Napabuntong-hininga si Seth.

"Worst than expected." Panimula ni Xavier.

"What do you mean?" Tanong ni Seth.

"Samara Vi Lazaro, Gifted. She lives in the town with her mother. Her father is dead and they are both humdrums. Her family owns a huge store at the market and are dealers of fruits and vegetables. They own an agricultural farm in the West town area. She finished her grade school years at Orindale School. She transferred here on VDLA when she discovered that she has attributes. She has no friends to be with but she is friendly. She met Victoria on the market with Lola Nena. She befriended Victoria for the very first time of her life and they get along well." Xavier summarized the information they collected.

"So basically, she's a humdrum. But due to unknown reason, she received a gift from the deities of this realm. But then she discovered her attributes late. Pwede ba 'yon?" Ivo said while reading the information from Xavier. He does wonder how did he get this in an instant. But he's Xavier, he can get any information that they need.

"Siguro. We have this thing called late bloomers." Ani ni Seth.

"Wala kaming ibang makuha sa babaeng 'yon. Malinis ang record. But I think something is off. Very off." Paliwanag ni Calvin at binigyan ng pagkain ang alagang si Coco.

"I have checked the old footages where that girl can be seen but she's just doing normal things. Other than that, I can't see anything suspicious." Wika ni Ivo. "By the way, where's Clydeus?"

"U9 Cell. Doing his thing." Sagot ni Xavier.

"You let him?" Tanong ni Seth at napahilamos ng palad sa mukha. Problema na naman. Hindi na nga natapos-tapos ang mga nauna, may panibago na naman.

Umiling si Xavier. "Priam did." Natahimik sila sa isinagot ni Xavier.

Doon pa lang, hindi na sila pwedeng makialam. Mataas ang respeto at paggalang nila kay Priam, at kailanman ay hindi nila ito kayang suwayin. Isa pa, alam nito ang ginagawa niya. Napag-isipan na nito ng ilang ulit ang mga pwedeng mangyari pagkatapos.

Blood is thicker than water, yes. But they're an oil. So, yeah, kung saan ang isa... doon lahat lalo na kung si Priam ito. Priam is not just Nightwood, he's not just cold-one-liner-MIA-dude you seem he is. He is more than what you can imagine. "That kid is ruthless..." Saad ni Calvin at himimas ang balahibo ng alagang si Coco. "...with a reason. When will he learn to control his emotions? And I wonder what's running on Priam's head at pinayagan niya 'yung bata."

Sanay silang lahat na tratuhin na parang bata si Clydeus. Bukod sa ito talaga ang pinakabata sa kanila, halos sila na rin ang nagpalaki rito dahil wala ang mga magulang nito at abala sa pagiging Guardians. Lahat sila ay halos sama-samang lumaki matapos nilang manggaling sa Aurswalt.
