Jisung

I stiffened, my eyes widening.

"Jisung?" The boy called out again.

"Uh Lix, I think we should head to class." I stood up quite fast, grabbing hold of the latter's hand.

Felix looked a little concerned about my sudden change in mood.

I shook my head, starting forwards.

"Jisung please just let me talk to you." He sounded. . . sincere, yet, desperate.

I stopped, turning to face Rio.

The clock caught my eye, only two minutes till the tardy bell.

"You should go Felix. You'll be late." I sent him a soft smile, letting go of his hand.

He looked like he wanted to protest. "But, sungie—"

"I'll be fine." I smiled softly. "Don't worry."

He nodded hesitantly, leaving slowly to class.

"Thank you Jisung." He neared me, though I quickly stepped back.

Minho wasn't here to protect me this time, so I need to be less oblivious and actually try to protect myself.

"Rio, I think I'd be best for us to talk from a far." I put out my arms.

He sighed, stopping. "Look, I'm sorry."

The air left me.

Did he really just—

"What I said and. . . did to you and Minho, wasn't exactly okay." Rio folded his arms.

"No, it wasn't." I murmured. "It made me uncomfortable."

"I just, let the sudden emotion Nyx fed me, get the best of my judgment. I'm not asking for total forgiveness, or really any forgiveness, right now. But, I wanted you to know I realize what I did." He caressed his neck nervously.

I was stunned.

Does he mean it?

"Do you. . . mean it?" My eyes were hopeful.

He nodded.

Seeing this, I relaxed. "Let's walk to class together."

He looked a bit startled. "A-Are you sure—?"

"Of course!" I giggled. "Everyone makes mistakes. But, I was taught to always believe in others. So I'll forgive you."

He looked utterly shocked.

Maybe even a little vulnerable.

"Thank you." He uttered, before catching up to walk beside me.

Magics class went a lot smoother than I'd expected.

Rio kept a little distance from me, not overly trying to make me comfortable. Which for some odd reason, made me more comfortable.

I was still a little sketchy about it, but I didn't let it show. He seemed sincere enough, unless I missed something, but I'm almost positive I didn't.
