I find it sooo annoying when people make up lies and over react online. Especially when this stuff happens on Wattpad and people try to gain more votes, reads, and comments.
When I read a story and there is a huge author's note where the author is just bitching about how awful their life is, so please vote for their chapter becasue it's the only bright part of their life, I roll my eyes and have to contain myself from saying something I will regret in their comment section. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I try to follow that rule, clearly that doesn't always go as planned or this rant book would just be a collection of blank pages.
Anyhow.
Newsflash: EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING BAD GOING ON IN THEIR LIFE. It's not just you, even if it seems that way. You know, I oculd make a really long list right now about all the things I wish could be changed in my life, but that would be a waste of my energy to type it all out and yours to read it all.
Although it takes a lot less energy to read than to write, I mean my fingers are getting like a five star work out right now and all you people are doing is scrolling or pushing and clicking a few buttons or whatever. So you know what you should be doing? WRITING! @SweetDreams_Angel IM LOOKING AT YOUUUUU
But don't leave to go write all of your fabulous creations until you are done reading this chapter. Because this is some high quality literature. :")
Back on track: we all have issues and things wrong with our lives. Even the people who seem like the happiest, smiliest (is that a word? ....no....) people in the world have problems. So even if other people's problems seem minor to yours, well, it's major to them. Don't use your problems as a way to get pity or, in the case of Wattpad, votes and comments.
DONT BLACKMAIL YOUR READERS INTO FEELING SORRY FOR YOU
Because they have their own problems and issues to deal with.
At the same time, don't feel like you need to keep your feelings to yourself and hold them in. You should always talk to someone about it, just... maybe not on Wattpad. Maybe talk to someone you trust in person, or pour your feelings into a poem that people can relate to instead of an author's note where people feel required to vote/comment out of pity for you instead of love for your story.
So in conclusion, don't be one of those annoying attention/vote/comment seekers on Wattpad. Merci beaucoup.
xoxo Emmalynn
