Has anyone else noticed that boy scouts no longer exist? It's now called scouts, because they were forced to become co-ed. But you know what still exists? Girl Guides, because it's not co-ed.
Listen, I'm all for Women's Rights and all, but at some point we need to take a step back and decide: are we for equality and fairness for everyone, or are we here to make women the rulers of the universe? Because those are two very different things.
Look: Scouts and Girl Guides are two very different things as well. Scouts is a more military-style things, I suppose, it's not cadets or anything, but it is more wilderness based. You use knives and stuff I'm pretty sure, and build fires and canoe and all that fun stuff.
In Girl Guides, it's a lot more social. It's not all bracelet-making and cupcake-baking though, it's just more about making friends than survival training. And that's totally fine! People should be able to have options and choose which program is what they're looking for.
But do they really have options?
Nope.
If boys want to do a program like this, they're only option is Scouts or Cadets, the more military-type programs. Girl Guides is only for girls.
But if a young girl wants to enrol in one of these programs, then she can pick whichever one she wants, because Scouts is co-ed, along with Cadets.
Doesn't this seem unfair to you? What if there is a young boy who doesn't want to wield knives or fire guns, but they can't join the program they want to because they are a boy?
Seems like a stupid system to me.
It's the same thing with sports teams at my school. Did you know that technically a girl could try out for the boys football team, but boys aren't allowed to try out for the girls field hockey team?
Interesting, eh?
^^^proof that I'm Canadian right there. I'm a living stereotype. Someone pass the maple syrup.
Anyways, let's stand up for little boy's rights! If we don't speak up, nobody will!
Long live the boys!
