My past few rants have talked about things outside of Wattpad, so I thought I'd bring this book back to the homeland and focus this rant on things more directly related to Wattpad.

There are a lot of things that people do on this site that annoy me. Obviously that's why I started this book. So today we are going to talk about common things that Wattpad authors do in their writing that annoys me.

::Number 1::

Spelling Errors

You know, I get that most works uploaded onto Wattpad are first drafts that haven't undergone a ton of editing yet. That's cool, that is totally fine. However, it doesn't require a lot of editing to realize that you misspelled tomato or something.

Common spelling errors are annoying. To me, it shows that you aren't putting effort into your chapters. We all make mistakes every now and again, but if simple spelling mistakes are constantly in every chapter you are uploading, reading your work will become painful. An example of an annoying spelling mistake is in the title of this chapter ^

So moral of the story, take the time to read your chapter over once, quickly scan it for errors and be surprised by how many mistakes you will find! If you really hate editing, hire an editor! They would be more than happy to help you. You can find editors in the 'Improve Your Writing' club.

::Number 2::

Paragraphing Mistakes

Nothing makes me stop reading a story faster than a giant blob of text on the screen. Please, please, please include paragraphs in your writing! Please! I'm sure we all learned how to paragraph properly in grade 4.

Putting your entire chapter in one paragraph is just...the easiest way to scare readers away. I can't understand anything when it's an entire blob! I don't know who's speaking, I don't know the setting, my eyes get blurry... it's horrible.

Also, don't put every single sentence as it's own paragraph either. Find a balance, and try to vary your paragraph lengths to make your story easier to read.

::Number 3::

Punctuation

Sentences begin with capitals and end with a period. Occasionally, they end in a question mark or exclamation mark. It's always a good idea to use quotation marks when characters are speaking, and commas to separate different sentence clauses.

But seriously, how do you expect me to read your story if you don't even have capitals at the beginning of your sentences? Mmm that ain't gonna happen gurl.

::Number 4::

Story lines that go on and on and on...

Sometimes people just don't know when to end a story! Like geez honey the main plot ended like 5 chapters ago why is this still going on? And then they add a sequel and a prequel and a spin off story and I'm like howwww?
