I fought with crudes all day till they gave up. They were way stronger than I thought. I mean duh, they work with Rex.
Dean was also in this group. He kept asking questions every two minutes about me. I think he wants to be an actual brother to me but it's best that doesn't happen because he'll get killed.
By his own mother.
I went next to Rex when I was done who still hasn't left his office with the guests. I knocked and heard Rex yell 'leave' "It's me." He nodded before I came in and took a seat next to Cassandra.
"So what do you want in return?" Rex narrowed his eyes like the question was the stupidest thing he's heard all day. "You're the one who's supposed to offer to me." I felt the blood drain from the man's face.
"I could end the Solivagants," The man explained and I smirked when Rex looked at me. "That's not possible, in your case," I said knowing damn well my mother wouldn't leave a crumb in their gang after she's done. "It is." Rex nodded.
"I mean, looking at this for your situation. You're pretty much going to die either way if you don't succeed. It's either going to be Kristina or me who kills you if you don't succeed. We don't have anything to lose." Rex looked at me as he said the last line.
"We won't lose shit but Kristina is going to get more crudes out of it. She's going to train them and that creates danger for everyone." I said using my mother's actual name.
"Weren't you with the solivagants?" Cassandra whispered and I nodded.
"How about this, I'll take her down before it gets to it. She wanders around here like it's her own place for fucks sake, we could just kill her." Rex said disregarding the deal he had with my mother. I narrowed my eyes.
"Alright, take the deal," I said after some deep thought. Even if my mom wins over three gangs she still won't be able to take down the Demolas. That's why she shits herself every time she sees Rex. So Rex did take the deal in the end and I was hit by surprising news. Cassandra joined the demolas and Rex wants me to train her as well.
Great.
"I have one more thing to say to you. Everyone else can leave." Rex extended his hand for me to take and took it back when he realized Cassandra hasn't left yet.
"Where do I go?" Rex cut it short by telling her to ask Cameron who's in front of the door and kicked her out.
"Come here." He said as he leaned on the desk and I took a step forward. He smirked and I got in front of his face before rolling my eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me, Arabella." He said deeply and I sighed. "Sure. What's the exciting news? I'm out of the mafia and have a ticket to live a normal American life? Thanks." I turned around and he grasped my hand before pulling me back. My chest was on his and I had no room to move as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Rex, what are you doing?" I said as my head sped up and my stomach felt weird. Am I hungry again? But I just ate.
"I'm holding you." He said before sighing and looking down at my widened eyes. "Why?" I said quietly. "Because I like it. A lot." Rex likes holding me. Rex likes me. No, not me, he likes touching me. Those are very different things and each is scary to me in different ways. "Tell me. I have to leave." I said backing up a bit. I probably looked weird. "Your mom invited us to her warehouse. Apparently, she needs you to see something and she's really eager." I shook my head harshly. "I'm not going back. I can't Rex. I-" He leaned his head on my neck making me shut my mouth. Is that his lips I feel? I closed my eyes to savor the feeling.
"I'm not leaving you. I'm not going to leave your side." I didn't doubt it when he said it in that voice. He won't leave me alone. "My mom will notice something Rex." He leaned back but still didn't let go. "Notice what? You not leaving my side? That's how it should be anyway. Even if I didn't care about you." My expression completely changed. No. Rex doesn't care about me. He can't. People who I care for and who cared about me have always ended up the same way. I don't want Rex to end up the same way. "You don't care, Rex." I pushed his hands away aggressively and saw him tense. "You fucking shouldn't." I looked at him in the eyes before leaving his office and walking next to Cameron. I looked at the boys who still didn't seem to leave but Dean wasn't there anymore.
"Where's Dean?" I asked Cameron and he shrugged. "Your mom took him." I widened my eyes. "He wasn't our crude. You didn't know that?" He asked as he leaned back. "No. Is he with Kristina?" I asked him and he nodded. Is that why my mom wants to see me? She wouldn't kill him, right? She has no reason. "You know you keep calling everyone pussy but you're the biggest coward I've ever fucking met." Rex pointed his finger at me as I was standing in front of the car. He opened the door and slammed it after getting in. I sighed and rolled my eyes before getting in as well. "You sure about not going?" He asked harshly and I shook my head. "I want to go." He told Aiden to drive there and I leaned back.
I don't think I can handle it if something happens to Dean. No matter how though I try to look, I do not want my brother to die because of his stupid mistake. We arrived and no matter how angry Rex was he stayed behind me to check for danger at all times for the sign of the ugly troll. I didn't see any sign of him which is weird but I didn't question it since Rex still kept his word. "Arabella." My mom smiled at me and I narrowed my eyes. Rex held behind my shirt and pulled it so I wouldn't get closer to her than I already was. He really does care.
"I needed to talk to you." She said as she exchanged looks with Rex. "Talk to her here." He came next to me. "Why?" She asked looking dumb. "What if you're plotting against me?" He said making sense. "Rex, everyone here knows that's a death wish. I wouldn't bother." She smiled at him and it disappeared when she looked at me. "Upstairs." I shook my head and walked back which made me hit Rex's chest. I saw his arm twitch to hold me but my mother is in front of me so he knew better. "I said upstairs." She said and I knew I couldn't deny that voice. "Alright." My voice was low and I looked down as I walked fast. I wanted this 'talk' to be over with.
"Arabella. I'm really disappointed." My heart dropped as I looked up.
