"Where are weee..." I dragged out the word bothered as Carmelo placed a hand on my back and slightly pushed me to walk faster. "I'm taking you out on a date. A friendly date because you need to cool off and get your mind off of things. Thank me later." He said like he was explaining it to a child, making me roll my eyes.

We sat at a table close to the dance floor. "Oh god." I said as I watched them move like programmed robots. I bit my lip as I turned back to Carmelo.

"Hey." Carmelo nudged my bare leg and I frowned at him deadly. "I might let you even kiss me if you behave." I rolled my eyes as he laughed.

Don't think of him.

"Uh oh." I heard Carmelo mutter and leaned back. "So uh, I just got information about something from the last time I spoke to Rex." I sighed and rubbed my face before looking back at him. I can't have one conversation where he's not involved. "Okay." I said when he hesitated about speaking further. "The girl he's been around with, her name is Kelly." I narrowed my eyes and nodded. "I don't see why that concerns me?" I said weirded out and Carmelo sighed. "It's Maria's daughter."

It's Maria's daughter. Now why haven't I thought of that before?

Probably because I was ignoring it on purpose.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before turning my gaze back to the dance floor. One guy who was staring at me caught my attention. He was sitting beside the dance floor. He had black hair and I couldn't see his eye colour from here. He looked tall and muscular in the suit he was wearing. He had a women with her but his eyes were on me. I narrowed my eyes when he gave me a smirk and the woman turned to stare at me as well.

She didn't look jealous or annoyed. She looked like she was inspecting me, examining me.

I turned my gaze back to Carmelo. "That's expected of him." I muttered finally and he nodded. "If you want him to pull another jealousy tantrum, I volunteer as tribute." I rolled my eyes and leaned back. "I'm sorry if that hurt you." I said after realising other people are capable of having emotions and Carmelo was in love with me at some point.

"Honestly, I always knew I had no chance. We're better off as friends but if you need a fix... I'm always here." I grimaced making him laugh. I looked around after ordering my drink came and took a sip. I choked after my eyes met Rex's.

I closed my eyes trying to calm myself. Really, Arabella? When did my imagination get this picturesque.

I opened my eyes and he was still there. Staring at me. "Did you take me here on purpose? Rex's behind you." I said angrily and Carmelo narrowed his eyes. He knew better than to look behind. "I think you should see this as a opportunity." I narrowed my eyes as I looked away from Rex.

"If I had a girl who did what he's done. I'd love to prove to her that I'm the best she's going to get. The best she's ever had." He said sneakily as he crooked his head to the side a little. "Right." I'm pretty sure he's already aware of that. Considering his body language as he speaks to Kelly, it's pretty obvious that I'm the best he's ever had. "I'm going to the restroom." I said as I stood up. I just wanted to splash some cold water on my face.

"Oh-..." I tripped on absolutely nothing and fell to the side but two strong arms caught me from the waist. "Wow. There couldn't have been a more cliche way to meet." I said as I stood in the middle of the fucking dance floor with the guy from before. He didn't seem affected by me but he had a warm look on his eyes. "I'm Elias." He introduced himself as I stood straight. He extended a hand out for me to take with his other hand on my waist.

Fine, I like to dance.

I took it and he spun me before I was glued to his chest. He didn't seem affected by that either. "Arabella." I replied uninterested and a smile made up to his lips.

"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I hope your boyfriends treating you well." I narrowed my eyes and looked away at Rex before turning back to Elias. "I don't have a boyfriend." He spun me again to the side and the other dancers were looking our way for stealing the spotlight by actually dancing well.

"That's interesting. I've been watching you all night. Even people with girls in front of them can't take their eyes off of you." He explained as we parted for a second then I put my hand on his shoulder again.

"It makes me uncomfortable that you're one of those people." I said as I looked at the woman he was here with. He chuckled slightly. "She doesn't mind." I nodded unsatisfied and his smile widened. "I have no intentions on being with you." He said and I narrowed my eyes. "Why are you here then? Dancing with me?" I raised an eyebrow and saw Rex glaring at me.

No, I saw the Devilman staring at me. Not bothering to hide the death stare. If looks could kill right now...

"I've just been really curious about you. Has anyone told you that you have your fathers eyes? You're just... So temptress." I looked at him surprisedly, blocking out the sense of logic which was telling me to keep my cool.

He gave me a wink before spinning me again and my chest tightened.

"What?" I asked worriedly. "I won't ever blow your cover. That should be the least of your worries." He said as the song changed and he put a string of hair behind my ear. "I just wanted to talk to you since you seem to be on the wrong side. What do you know about Harvey?" He asked and I frowned. "Who the fuck are you?" He narrowed his eyes at the f bomb.

"I'm not your enemy, Bella. Let's just say I think people are toying with you." I took a deep breath and I think Rex noticed my mood change. He grabbed Kelly's arm and pulled her to the dance floor. "Rex Elijah Rosetti. Your old lover right? I was rooting for you guys." He said in a sigh and I had the sudden urge to push him off of me.

"In the other hand though, you're exactly like me." He said in a warm smile.

"No one can tame our flame." He whispered in my ear and I bit my lip trying not to breathe deeply.

Not because of arousal or that I'm attracted to him. It's the complete opposite actually.

"Harvey was thrilled to find out you're looking for him. He was proud that you worked by yourself as Temptress. Great choice with the name by the way. It suits you perfectly." I didn't know what to say. How to reply.

One question remained that was pissing me off.

Who the fuck is this guy?

"How do you know me like that? You can't research me, there's nothing you can find. Did you kidnap someone?" I remembered William. I was keeping tabs on him from Carmelo. Cameron and him were still together and happy although he wasn't too happy to find out about how we killed Leonardo. How we fooled him.

"Let's just say I've really improved on my spying skills when Harvey found out you're alive and healthy. In a gang. Nothing creepy though, I'm an honest man." He tried assuring me which made me frown and crook my head to the side.

"Nothing creepy? Do you realise how ironic that sounds? I know everything about you because I've been spying on you since your fucking birth but nothing creepy." He smirked and took a deep breath. "I mean I was respecting your physical privacy. I'm not the bad guy, Arabella. You'll realise when you figure it out." He said leaving me puzzled again. Figure it out? He tried letting go but I didn't let him by holding on tighter.

"What do you mean figure it out? Just fucking tell me if your not the bad guy. How does Harvey know me? Or why does he keep tabs on me? Who the hell is he?" I said squeezing his tux. He didn't appreciate that.

"Do you really want to find out now, from me? Or do you want to figure it out yourself, Arabella? You're insulting your intelligence. But trust me on one thing, we'll be seeing each other a lot from now on."

"And when you find out everything. You won't be leaving my side, just like how I won't be leaving yours."
