The Devilman's Epiphany ✔️

XLII- What a pleasant surprise

I decided wearing jeans and a red sweatshirt after showering. Red makes me look sexy. I did a bit of makeup and walked downstairs again. I wore his necklace before I could give myself time to hesitate as well. Cameron drove me there and we had a plan.

I'm going to have to keep myself from laughing.

"Stop! You can't walk in anymore!" Cameron was on my face as I walked past the scan area. "Right." I nodded as I dodged him and walked in a fast phase. "Boss!" I heard Cameron yell from behind me and saw Rex with the same woman from the party. "Hello." I smiled at her and turned to Rex. "Rosetti. We've got a few things to arrange." I told him and he frowned at me. I could see his eyes slightly widened but that's not what gave away the way he felt about me.

His expanded pupils did.

"Arabella, what a pleasant surprise." Leonardo walked from the hallway and I gave him a smile as I raised my eyebrows. "I wish I could say the same. But I came to get my crudes back." Rex chuckled slightly and looked at Leonardo. Leonardo raised his eyebrows and patted Rex's shoulder. "That's on you, son." With that he walked away and I turned back to look at Rex. "Who are you exactly?" The high pitched voice startled me and I could see Rex cringe.

I just gave her a snarky smile and winked before looking at Rex. "Are you fucking deaf? You can't just walk in here-..." I think I would've swung at her if Rex didn't move in front of me. "We can talk in my office." He said and extended his hand to the side for me to walk away.

"Watch it." I whispered to the girl and started walking to the office. I could hear her heels from behind us and rolled my eyes. I shut the door on her face when Rex came in the room and she started smacking the door. "Look at this fucking leach-..." I saw Rex's mouth twitch as he pushed me away to open the door. "You're not allowed in here during meetings. Go be fucking useful to me." He said angrily before shutting he door and walking behind his desk. I locked the door which made him raise an eyebrow. I just sat on the couch and smiled at him.

"Will you start fucking speaking? I don't have all day." He said with the same anger now towards me. "Hm. I think I'll just watch. I like the view." I responded and got up before sitting on his desk. "What's your fucking problem?" He said as he leaned on the table. "I think about dumb shit all the time, not very good at holding conversations and I think I have ADHD." He gave me a blank look but I could see the smirk behind it.

"You lied to me. Constantly." I said before folding my arms and he narrowed his eyes. "You told me you think I'm smart then just got in front of my face and just told me you don't love me." I said making him stumble.

"You could tell me I'm wrong but then again... If I check you scientifically... Your eyes are expanded as fuck and I don't think you realise that you're blushing right now. I touched his cheek with the back of my hand and was surprised when he didn't protest. "Your skin is burning, Rex." I said before getting up from the desk. He got up with me. "Leave." I couldn't keep my smile. I walked in front of him. "You could've told me about Leonardo. I would've understood. I'm not mad at you but you really unnecessarily hurt me, Rex." I said now becoming serious and his face fell.

"I didn't want to hurt you. I just didn't want to take that fucking risk but now I have no choice." He said frustrated and went his hand through his hair. I was itching to touch him and I guess he felt the same.

"I can't fucking believe you kissed Carmelo." He said before picking me up. I wrapped my legs around his side torso and buried my head in his neck just like he did. "I genuinely thought you didn't love me. Which is stupid, I know. But no ones ever loved me before you, Rex. I though it was too good to believe and then I saw her with you. I thought you were on to the next already and that made me really angry. It was mean to kiss Carmelo but you can't blame me." I said before inhaling deeply. Call it creepy, I don't care. I missed him.

I really fucking missed him.

"What now?" I asked and Rex walked over to his desk with me and sat down again. "Just shut up. I've been going absolutely insane without you." That did it. I zipped my mouth and just let him hold me like the way I've been imagining it in the past month. "You owe me a normal dance." I said making him chuckle lightly. Even his chuckle made me feel a type of way.

That should be the last thing that concerns me in this moment.

"Alright. Let's just get rid of the obstacles first." He mumbled before I pulled my head up and so did he. "God, I've been dying to do this." He leaned in and claimed my lips hungrily. I held the side of his face and one of my hands were on his neck, slightly playing with his hair.

I shivered when he put his tongue in my mouth and gripped my waist like he always does. We were there for about thirty to forty minutes. After we kissed Rex carried us to the couch and we just laid there. "I'm sorry." He mumbled as we got quiet. "It's okay. I would've done the same." I said in a sigh. "I love you." He said and I rested my head on his neck. "I love you." I mumbled and felt his hand trace my neck. "I didn't think you'd wear it this soon." He said with a smile and I leaned to kiss his cheek. He held me tighter and I widened my eyes after hearing the door knock. I got up and just looked at him before speaking up.

"Open the fucking door, I'm not going to do it for you!" I yelled at him and he let out a loud sigh before opening the door. "I didn't think your meetings lasted this long, Rex." The bitch folded her arms. "It's hard trying to reason with a dumbass. People must go through that a lot as they speak to you as well." I smiled at her before leaving. I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye. "Boss?" Cameron looked at Rex. "Make sure she gets the fuck out of here." Cameron nodded as he followed me. His face broke into a huge grin when we got out of the exit. "Tell me." I rolled my eyes at him.

"You're surely nosy." I said before raising my eyebrows and getting in his car. "He tried to not give in at first then just turned back to normal when I didn't budge." I explained shortly and Cameron smirked. "Wow. Has he told you about the plan?" I narrowed my eyes. "Okay than. You should wait for him to tell you." He said as we reached to William's house. Fine.

I'm just happy to have him back.
