Over My Dead Body

"Lil," Jason breathed a sigh of relief "You're okay," He raised her hand to his lips and kissed it. Lily opened her mouth to speak but her throat was completely dry and she coughed

Jason grabbed the glass of water from her bedside table and she gulped it down desperately "What happened?" Lily asked

"You were in a car crash, Lil. They called me and told me they had taken you to hospital, you've been out for 3 days," He explained

"3 days?" She asked and her mind flew back to the last night she was conscious. She remembered everything, Caleb leaving, hearing about the photos Jason had of her. Jason - him and Aria

Suddenly she pulled her hand out of his and shook her head "Why are you here?" She asked

"Because I love you, Lil," He said softly "I know we had a fight, but I don't care about that anymore. I should never have been angry at you, I love you, I trust you and I'm sorry for all of it," He reached for her hand again but she visibly flinched away "What's wrong, Lil?"

She was saved from answering by her room door opened and Wren came into the room with Ella Montgomery and her mother

"Lily!" Her mum ran over and pulled her daughter into a tight hug "Thanks heavens you're alright,"

"I'm fine," Lily smiled as she hugged her mother

"You gave us all a scare, Lily," Ella said "But I'm glad you're okay,"

"Thank you," Lily said "Where are the girls?"

"Tonight is Hanna's father's wedding," Ella explained "So they're all there but I'm sure they'll come by straight after,"

"Okay," She nodded

"Do you want anything sweetheart?" Lily's mother asked her

"Another hug," Lily grinned

"From me?" They all turned to see Caleb in the doorway wearing a tux and Lily guessed he had come from Hanna's dad's wedding

"Caleb!" Lily gasped and he went over to hug her "You're back!"

"Well I heard about your crash and decided to come back early," He said "I wanted to know you were okay,"

"How was your mum?" She asked

"It was great," He smiled "I loved it,"

"I'm so happy for you," She said "Um, guys could I talk to Caleb in private for a minute?" The other three nodded and left the room to give them a minute together

"What's up?" He asked with a concerned look

"It's about Jason," Lily said quietly "The night of my crash I had been going to talk to Emily and as I was driving I saw him and... Aria,"

"Doing what?"

"Well, she was leaning in to kiss him and he didn't pull away," She explained

"Lil," Caleb took one of her hands "Talk to him, you love him and we all know it, you guys are made for each other. Talk to him about and hear what he has to say, don't just jump to conclusions before you know the whole story,"

"You think so?" She asked

"Yeah," He said

"You're back now," Lily said "You're coming back to stay with me?"

"If you want me to,"

"I do,"

"Then I am," He smiled

"Why aren't you at the wedding?" She suddenly asked

"It got called off, Hanna told Isabel about her mum hooking up with her dad while he was here," Caleb explained "I should probably call Hanna and let her know that you're awake," He pressed a kiss to her forehead before leaving the room

Jason came back into the room and sat on the side of her bed "Lily... what's going on?"

"Surprised you care," Lily mumbled but it was loud enough for him to hear

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked

"I saw you and Aria," She said and he sighed

"Lil, I never kissed her I promise,"

"Well you weren't pulling away," She argued

"Just let me explain," He said "I was driving past and saw her walking so I got out of my car to talk to her and ask about how Mike was doing. She seemed upset so I asked her what was wrong and she told me it was just some relationship stuff weighing on her mind, I told her that I knew how that felt and when she asked about how you and I were I told her we weren't on good terms. She took that as though we had broken up and told me she was sick of feeling alone, I told her she didn't have to be and she leaned up to kiss me. I pushed her off and told her I loved you and if she had problems she needed to sort them out herself,"

"Oh," Lily suddenly felt like an idiot, she had sped off before she saw the end of that and shouldn't have just assumed Jason would cheat on her. She thought she could blame him for her being in here but it turned out the crash was entirely her fault

"Lil," Jason cupped her cheek "I love you and only you. I promise," She nodded and he could see the tears building in her eyes so he went to pull her closer but she gently pushed him off 

"What about the pictures?" She asked "They told me you had pictures of me... sleeping,"

"Alison took those," He said "I found them in a box of her stuff that I was going to give to you and I decided to develop them for you,"

Lily nodded and finally let him pull her into his arms and let herself cry onto his shoulder

When Lily had cried herself out Wren came back into the room and told her she needed lots of rest and to take one painkiller a day for the next week. Her wrist would be in a cast for 2 weeks and her ankle needed to be wrapped but apart from that she would be fine

"Look after yourself, Lily," Wren said

"Thanks, Wren," She smiled and he and Jason both left so she could change. Jason drove her back home so she could shower and change, when she came downstairs Jason, Caleb and her mother were talking quietly and they stopped speaking when she went over "What's wrong?"

"Hanna just called me," Caleb said "The girls are at the police station,"

"Why?" She asked

"They were arrested and the police think they've caught the girls with the weapon that was used to kill Alison," He explained "We're going down there, now," Lily grabbed her jacket and her mother decided to stay home with Teddy so Caleb drove the three of them to the police station

Peter Hastings saw them walking in and immediately grabbed Jason while Caleb and Lily went to speak to Veronica

"What's going on?" Lily asked

"Detective Wilden is trying to charge them with the murder of Alison, they believe the shovel the girls were found with was the same one used to kill Alison," She explained

"Oh my god," Lily breathed "This is crazy,"

"I know," She nodded "And a page of the coroner's report is missing, conveniently the page that contained the analysis of the trace evidence found on Alison's body,"

"What?" Caleb asked "It's just gone?"

"They haven't found it anywhere," She said. While Caleb and Veronica spoke Lily was staring across the room at Garrett Reynolds

"Excuse me," Lily said and stormed towards him, she grabbed him by the collar and dragged him after her into an empty room "What did you do with it?"

"With what?" He asked

"The evidence from Ali's body!" She snapped

"I don't have it, it's gone," he said "I thought you'd be happy, now there's nothing linking us to that night,"

"Yeah, we're safe but my friends aren't!" She shouted "Either you grow up and tell the police the truth about that night or I will! You're not getting off the hook for this!"
