Cover for Me

Aria had left Rosewood late last night, only telling Emily that she needed to get out of there and not explaining where she was going

But as someone who knew what it was like to run from reality, Lily had a strong feeling Aria was either somewhere drinking a lot of booze, or hooking up with a stranger, or doing both. And as much as she couldn't blame her for getting away, she worried for her friend

"Aria finally called me this morning." Emily was telling Hanna and Lily as they walked through school 

"Is she still mad at me?" Hanna asked 

"She's not mad, she's hurting." Emily said "But she sounded okay. Distant. Are we still going to Spencer's later?" 

"It was so weird. I called her cell and her mum answered." Hanna sighed "There's no visitors and she's not gonna be in school for a while." 

"Probably for the best." Lily nodded 

"I saw Fitz's car in the teacher's parking lot." Emily said and both other girls froze 

"Wait, he's back?" She asked "So he just goes to New York to collect the big, fat check for selling us out. And then what, comes back here to gloat?"

Emily was about to add something but a loud conversation down the hall caught their attention "I wish you would have told me this before I bought tickets." Mike was saying to Mona "Do you want to go at all?" 

"I'm sorry, Mike. I don't know what to say." Mona replied 

"Give me a call when you figure it out." He scoffed and stormed away

Hanna and Emily wore surprised looks but  Lily who just rolled her eyes and turned around, but her eyes landed on Ezra Fitz standing by his open classroom door, his eyes trained on Mona "Looks like he's still pulling Mona's strings." 

"Do you think Fitz was behind whatever that was?" Hanna asked "I mean, Mike and Mona didn't really make much sense unless..." 

"Unless she was spying on Aria for him." Emily said "And it would explain why he tried to get so close to Lily too. Maybe Mona's also there to find out whatever Mike learned about Lily" 

"Now I'm mad." Lily sighed 

"We should say something." Emily nodded and started towards his door but neither of the others moved "Are you coming?"

"I can't. If you're gonna slash his tires or bust his headlights, I'd still be down. But I don't want to be in the same room with him." Hanna said

"Me neither" Lily added

"I know. I get it." Emily nodded and walked into the classroom, leaving Hanna and Lily outside

"Hey, I'm gonna ditch last period." Lily said to the blonde

"Why?" Hanna asked 

"I'm going to see Gabe" She said "Are you gonna be okay?" 

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Hanna smiled and Lily made her way out of school towards her car. 

She drove to the Brew and she parked her car along the pavement before getting out and heading inside the coffee shop where she luckily found Gabe sitting once again as she knew he had his time off right now

"Hey" She said and he looked up from the work he was doing

"Hi" He replied "Sit, please" Lily smiled and took the seat next to him "Shouldn't you be in school right now?"

"Yeah but I'd rather see you," She said and he raised an eyebrow, giving her a playful scolding look "What? It's either sit in school and suffer or see my boyfriend and smile"
