Into the Deep

Last night had been tense for all of the girls as they waited to hear what had happened after Mona went to the police station and lied about killing Detective Wilden

"What happened?" Lily asked Spencer over the phone

"My mother said that some of Mona's words don't line up with the evidence the police have from Wilden's body," She explained

"I just don't get why Mona would do this," She said "She tried to kill me and now she's trying to help one of my friends? I don't trust her as far as I can throw her,"

"Me neither," Spencer said "But Hanna told me that Mona had been preparing Hanna to go into the police and lie about killing Wilden to protect her mother,"

"What? That's crazy," Lily said and Caleb walked into the room so Lily quickly said goodbye to Spencer and hung up so he wouldn't hear what Hanna had been up to

"How are you doing?" Caleb asked

"As well as I can be," She sighed "And by that I mean not well,"

"I'm not surprised," He said "What have the police said about it?"

"They're looking into her story but so far nothing," Lily said "I know you want to help Caleb but just give Hanna time, Mona was one of her best friends and this could damage her mother's case,"

"I know," He sighed "Anyway, I heard someone leaving this morning and I know it wasn't your mother because they weren't wearing heels" 

Caleb had a smug look on his face which made Lily groan and bury her face in her hands, knowing she had been caught "Shut up" 

"So who was he?" He asked

"Mike," She said and Caleb looked surprised

"Wow you have a thing for your friends brother's don't you?" He teased and quickly ducked as Lily threw the kitchen roll at his head "I'm kidding, don't worry,"

"Mike and I aren't a thing" she said "I told him we weren't because my life is filled with never ending drama, Aria would kill me, and it hasn't even been long since Jason left town"

"That's it?" He asked "Come on, there has to be another reason why you don't want to be with him"

"There isn't" She said

"Really?"

"Yes"

"Liar" He said "Come on, it's me, you can tell me anything"

"I don't know what to tell you," she said 

"So it has nothing to do with the new cop in town who Hanna says stares at you all the time?" He asked and she froze "I knew it!"

"There is noting between me and Officer Holbrook!" She exclaimed

"But you want there to be," He grinned "You have a choice between Mike Montgomery and the new cop and you want Holbrook"

"Maybe," she groaned "I don't know. He's sweet and nice, and he's easy to talk to. I guess I kind of have a crush on him"

"Then go for it," He said

"But isn't it weird with him literally investigating me?" She asked

"You can't plan out every detail of a relationship. No matter what there's always going to be something that bothers you about how you met, how you know each other, what they're like, or what your future will be. But a relationship shouldn't be completely perfect or else it's boring" he explained

"When did you become an expert on love?" Lily laughed

"I'm an expert in everything" He said and she rolled her eyes
