Shadow Play

Hanna, Emily, Spencer, and Lily had gone into Rosewood high on a weekend to look through Ezra's classroom to try find any real evidence that he was A, or at least something that explained what he was hiding

"How many goldstick variations are there?" Hanna asked as they entered the classroom 

"Thirty-two." Spencer answered "They'll never miss us."

Emily sighed and put down her phone, which she had been using to try call Aria "Aria still isn't answering." 

"What are you gonna say if we get her?" Lily asked "Isn't it funny how your old boyfriend "turned out to be a stalking whackjob?"" 

"I'd like to know a lot more before we talk to her." Emily said 

"You take that side of the desk," Spencer said to Emily, pointing to the right side, before turning to Hanna "You take the file cabinet." She turned to Lily "And you take the shelves"

"What are we looking for?" Hanna asked 

"Evidence. We're gonna need a lot more if we're going to prove to Aria that Ezra's... Not who he says he is." She explained

"That he's A" Lily corrected 

"How are we going to convince Aria if we can't even say it out loud?" Hanna added and turned her attention back to the drawers, searching through everything in them "If I was a teacher and my students only got me coffee mugs, I would so start flunking people."

Spencer had found a large orange envelope in his desk, so she pulled it out and felt something large inside it. She reached in, and pulled out a familiar silver book. When Emily saw what she was holding she gasped "Tell me that's not what it looks like." 

"Ali's journal." Spencer nodded, and their suspicions were confirmed. They quickly put everything back where it had been before and left the classroom, only taking the journal with them

"So that was Ezra at the cabin?" Lily whispered 

"We always knew there were two of them." Spencer said 

"Ezra and Shana?" Hanna asked 

"Ezra and somebody." She replied

They heard footsteps coming from down the hallway which was weird since it was a weekend, so they quickly hid around the corner, peering out in time to see Mona walking into Mr Fitz's classroom "What is Mona doing here?" 

"I don't know." 

"Is she looking for the book?" 

"How should I know? Quiet." Spencer hissed and Mona them emerged from the classroom carrying stacks of files

"Why is Mona stealing papers from Mr. Fitz?" Hanna asked 

"Maybe she isn't stealing them." Spencer whispered

"Maybe she's delivering them." Lily added "Come on," 

They crept out of the school together and went back to Spencer's house where Spencer pulled the journal out again to see if anything in it was different

"Shouldn't we do this in your room?" Emily asked 

"My parents are out of town, being lawyers." Spencer replied 

"Sounds romantic." She said 

"One's in Chicago, the other one's in Boston." She sniffed "I don't think there are any pages missing." 

"Okay, are you, like, getting a cold?" Hanna asked her as she sniffed again

"Allergies." 

"What about the phone number and email addresses I found with the money?" Emily asked
